Momotaro

I am wearing these as I type this. They are (well, were) BRUTALLY slim in the top block from your crotch up. The thigh isn't that bad and they aren't really slim at all from the knee down, but it took me almost a week to stretch out the top block to the point that it wasn't painful. What is tricky about them is that the measurements online are somewhat deceitful. By the numbers they don't look that tight…but then put them on. I purchased a 32 (I normally wear a 32 in just about everything) and for the first day I couldn't button the top 3 buttons. Once they stretch out on top though they fit like butter. You may want to size up 1 to play it safe.
Is anyone going for the new 0702 model with black weft (as stocked by Blue Owl and BIG)?
Given that it is quite similar to the ER007-2B, it will be interesting to see how it ages.

I presume you're talking about the 0702 Stormowl? Interesting because after writing the previous post I got the ER007-2B and had exactly the same issue you're describing. To be honest, I've kinda given up on them for now because the top block wasn't stretching like I hoped it would. I'll keep 'em in the background in case I lose a bit of weight at some point.
So for any other prospective buyers, I second the idea of sizing up with either of these models, unless you love pain.

Coming along nicely. Momotaro denim and construction look absolutely top-notch.

Looking nice. I've been wearing on-and-off my ER007-2B for a while now, but still have hardly any sign of fading. I'm starting to like them more and more, but they are definitely very stubborn jeans. It's taking a long time to beat them into shape.
Will post pictures when we finally get some decent weather here.

Lately i've took interest in the Blue Owl and Momotaro collection "Momotaro x Blue Owl "Midnight Warrior" Skinny Straight 15.7oz Raw Selvedge - Model BOM001"
http://blueowl.us/scripts/psp/VB_Bridge3.dll?VBPROG=\bin\shop.prodt.detail&SKU=7932000
Does anybody had experience with this or thoughts?

Just received a 0201 in W 31, used, from a Dutch guy from another forum. Awesome jeans, love the fit & feel.

Any experience with Japan Blue by momotaro? good quality construction? the names are the same than Momos, 0201, 0701 etc. are they the same fit?
Cheers

Different denim, different fits (slimmer & more fashionable, I believe), supposedly same quality. I have no experience with the line personally, so I can't say for certain.
-
Japan Blue is a separate line from Rampuya & Co rather than a product of Momotaro. There's a lot of info in the Momo thread on SuFu explaining the difference that is worth a read. Overall, my feeling is that Momotaro didn't do a very good job of differentiating the two lines - at the cost of Momotaro's brand identity.
-
is that the thread called "Japan Blue Momotaro" with 81 pages?

Agree. In fact I think they have deliberately blurred the line between Momotaro and JB, as evidenced by the cuts which bear both names.
I have Momotaro jeans and really like them, but am still unconvinced about JB - i need to see them in real life I think.
-
I touched the JB's - and I do much prefer Momotaros classic denim. The 14,7 oz felt a bit like Nudies Selvage models.
Very true, they blurred the lines and this attracts some kids and newbies, but scares the old folk away. At least I feel that way. Plus they really pushed towards the european market, which made them less mystical than other japanese brands. Again, my opinion.
