I agree with summ3rhays; the boondockers would be the most versatile of the boot options. Easy to dress up or down, while the engineers are a solidly casual choice.

tbh. ben, i'd go with a jacket first…you can always buy boots in the end.
as you can see on your pic where you're wearing the MF jacket, is sure looks hella cool with those converse.
so for me, a leather jacket is way more versatile (no matter if paired up with some shirts or flannels, a pair of blue jeans or some nice footwear such as sneakers)...you can always buy boots.so for me, it's the leather jacket over everything....and i think i'd get the bronco or the veg tan jacket

If i were in your shoes, I would probably go with the one that I will wear more often. If you're comfortable with the shoes that you're wearing nowadays, then go for the Jacket. I would agree with Rafa that bronco sure looks GOOD on you..
Whatever decision you made, in the end you can't go wrong with either one. Good Luck!!

For me a good pair of boots is a wardrobe essential whereas a leather jacket is only essential for some.

I'd likely go the boondockers for the year round wear+game changer. Man great question

I'm with Friday–the one that will get the most wear is the one that you should choose. Of course, you may not know how much you really want to wear a thing until you have it, but such is life. Out of the options, for me, boondockers and/or veg tan all the way. The bronco does look like a good fit, but for me a leather should be a garment that goes with anything, and colors, stars and shit just don't.

I love my Lofgrens and wear boots, even heavy boots like engineers, year-round.
I completely fell in love with the brown Flat Head cafe racer size 40 at SELA and loved its fit, but I couldn't justify another leather jacket at the price. But what a lovely beast it is. One nice thing about it versus some other horsehide rider jackets was how supple the leather already is–no need for an uncomfortable break-in period (not that I really mind such).

thanks for all the input guys… after thinking about it more I have a feeling itll either be the flat head jackets or the engineers, and I feel like I really cant go wrong with either one.
mclain, you tried on the brown cafe racer in the pic I showed (with 4 pockets)? didn't know they had it, will definitely have to take a gander next time!

you can still cuff them so they can't be too short.
If you desperate to cuff your jeans, I still don't think they are too short. And after all, you have to judge when you actually wear footwear as it can change the look a lot
