Catch of the day [Fishing]

10-12" Giles; an estimate from the record holder put it at 12-14oz, so that was a great result from throwing the float upstream while trotting a couple of maggots

Thanks G.
Roving all day, finding the slacks on my little river, 20 minutes in each spot, big lump of spam…its been hard won but I am finally cracking the code -
You know where to come Giles, 1-2 weeks into the season and I can go 80% on you catching a Barbel in a certain weirpool near me
-
cool see you mid-late July then
-
Dream fish for me this evening…a double figure Barbel
Congrats on the catch mate, great looking fish!
-
Thanks HTF…they are beasts, the hardest fighting British coarse fish
I had an up and down end to the river season here; I lost a HUGE Barbel in a spot I'd been prebaiting for 3 weeks with boilies.. Two days later my mate (a fisherman who features regularly in the angling press) dropped into the spot with a bit of meat and caught the river record ...18lbs. (Anglers mail next week I guess)
On the last night, cold and tired, I managed to pull another smaller one out, on hair rigged bread.

One of these would look great in the fishing room, @Giles…
And a great reason to finally come visit me!
