Giles- After the acquisition of my new Indigo N1 deck vest, i got curious. Why did the Indigo version cause such a premium if the Wabash or other indigo dyed items retail in line with other shirts?
-
Just a guess.
We did a relatively small run of the indigo whipcord.
Also, costs are going up in the factories and new fabrics get the costs worked out from first principles, but the Japanese are not very good at going back and looking how increased costs affect stuff that has been being made for ages, so they tend not to increase costs of older stuff until they realise they're taking a hosing.
-
@jordanscollected I'm unsure if this was the case, but there was also some talk before release of the difficulties involved in indigo dyeing whipcord effectively. I believe it was challenging and took multiple dips. This would add to to cost if true.

great info from you both. Thanks and I'm glad i scored this when I had the chance. It seems like there was someone else watching the 2 larges, because the moment i bought mine, the last one sold too.

…when do the UHF's start being released? I use the Harakisan picture of the stack of UHF material for 2021 as a screen saver.

Hopefully Giles won’t mind me fielding this one.
The first UHF of the A/W season tends to arrive late August and the remainer of the releases are spread over the rest of the calender year to November/December.

…thanks guy's!

…on a side note, Graham just informed me that a package that was lost in the wilderness will be arriving today! So happy that worked out for all of us! Have a great weekend everyone!

Giles, do you have a pair of jeans that you keep nice for dressing up? if so, what are they?
If not, what would you choose as "nice dinner and drinks but still wearing denim" jeans?
-
I typically wear one pair of jeans with no rotation until another denim and/or cut comes along that I want to try. If I am forced to wear something other than those, I'll reluctantly pull on a pair of chinos, or if it is a wedding or a funeral, a dark blue linen suit. In the summer I will wear shorts a lot and if I am wearing waders, I'll wear sweat pants under them.
And to me, a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans, I don't understand the concept of smart versus non-smart. They all start smart but end up being non-smart.
Sorry….

for those of us who work in an office that has "casual Friday", or now with the pandemic "casual everyday", a nice pair of jeans kept clean is much easier than wearing the same ones we were at the ranch with or in the yard with.
You simply don't have to make that distinction and are lucky for it.

@Giles in your personal experience, what top 3 fabrics/weights have been the most durable in Iron Heart jeans? Not thinking about fades, but how resilient the jean has been to wear and tear.
Hmmmm, I tend to wear a pair of jeans for about a year more or less non-stop. Then I move on to the next great thing…
If I had to make a stab at this, I'd go.
25oz
14oz
19ozI want to purchase a denim Type III with pockets. I also live in a warmer environment (Central Texas) and would like to opportunity to wear it not just when it's super cold. I currently don't have issues wearing 21 or 25 oz denim on my legs but also know that our cores are more sensitive to heat transfer.
Based on the above response of durability and knowing the that tightness of the weave plays a part in how breathable/warm a fabric is vs just pure weight, which Type III would you recommend?
14, 19L, or 21?

It is, it took a big hit in a recent typhoon. But the 2 boats were undamaged. Covid hit us hard. We basically had full bookings for 2020, and those all but disappeared. But yep, it is still there
