Though, I went with a different property, this time around. Since, most seem to be staying at the Travelodge, I chose a spot nearby. @Alex @Giles , in my search for flights, it seems it would be about the same time and price to fly into Southampton, as it would Gatwick. Do you think that would be a better option?

1000%. It is by far the best airport if you can get into it. Half an hour drive/taxi away from us. Unless it's rush hour, then you're fucked whichever airport you come into - well Gatwick is a bit better because you can catch a train to Portsmouth....
