Can you share your opinion on it after it has arrived G.?

I'm still waiting for a 20l IH Duck daypack <3.

@RobeOfTheMagi 100%. I have a 25litre Patagonia Blackhole which this will replace. The zippers have seized a little (sea water again), and the main opening is a complete bitch to access quickly (the zippers just don't work properly at the angle you naturally pull them from). Also, I really wanted side access to the PC compartment because opening the whole bloody bag to access the Mac/iPad when going through airport security is a pain, only compounded by the above zipper niggles.

I regularly think about retiring my 10-year old BACH Wizard but the rascal simply refuses to give in. It's seen so many countries ,was carried on my back for hundreds of hours and he still carries all my schoolbooks and my laptop to work daily. It might not be the prettiest but I think the functionality, construction and especially the zippers are unmatched.
I've heard that Bach has been sold, but I might be mistaken. Not sure if the quality is still were it was.
The back still looks hardly worn.

I’m trying to figure out what bags to take for Japan trip. Original plan was samsonite spinner cabin and lightweight backpack, but now I’m wondering about one larger carry on backpack for the way there and buy a cheap checked bag on the way back to bring purchases. For those who have been there, we are taking trains to change hotels four times in addition to the two airport journeys, so your advice is appreciated. I used to be a big backpack traveller and then recently got a spinner and enjoyed it on my last trip, but saw a video about lots of stairs in Japan making a back pack easier. Thoughts?

Whilst I wait for mine, here is a pretty good review. Some of the stuff he does not like about it, I can retro fix. But all in all a very positive review

@chrisjohnnick uhhh it’s called patina
Well, yea, but it just hurts so much to get that first scratch on it myself! Now, if I bought it used and it came that way...
Also, on a related note: A very well-worn Emil Erwin brown messenger bag popped up on the local Nashville marketplace. Wish I was into messenger bags more!

@Giles I have the Blitz and it’s a great quality backpack for the price point. The side laptop access is great and the zippers and pulls are all very well made.
Give it hell.

I recently bought the Trakke Bannoch, and love the story and ethics of the company, and the quality of the pack. Also: unlike Codura backpacks you get real patina with the waxed canvas (it ages nicely). I now realized that most days I need a bit more space and looking at the Bannoch Pro....
-
@Giles always room for one more

@mclaincausey can be back me up ok this but Rofmia has some of the most beautiful bags and packaging in the business. This is their “large” leather sacoche bag and it is everything Rofmia is about: quality, beauty, and simplicity.
It will prob be mostly a drop in bag for me but the price is right and if I dont use it, I know my wife will.

Got a lead on a Goruck Carryology 21L dyneema. Would y’all say that’s a better bag than the standard black cordura 21L Goruck?
-
Goruck is having a sale right now. With their lifetime scars guarantee pick your material of choice. Same bag. They will repair or replace if needed.
-
The only 21L Gr1's on sale are the hot pink and the allegiance flag. I'm not man enough for the pink, and not patriotic enough for the flag.
-
There were more options when the sale started. I’m surprised the allegiance flag still has inventory. Understand why the pink is still available.
