IHSH-293-OD - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black

This “shirt” is so good! Sizing up from XL to XXL definitely would have been a mistake. I’ll probably be wearing this exclusively as an over shirt. Obligatory fit pic over my 276:

So any old timers had any opinions about the copper ones?
Personally I prefer the oxidized copper to the original copper. The OD’ed fabric has a sort of worn, distressed vibe to it and the tarnished snaps work well with that. The clean copper looks good too though. If I was going to make changes to snaps on this shirt, I’d go with silver. They are crying out for some GAH.

My thanks for fit advice to @gniquil @rydor @jordan23 @theorocks @jordanscollected @yannis and @neph93. I've decided to keep it, and use it as a jacket over a thin flannel. It's sooooo nice. Such colours popping.

Looking sharp!!

I am not a huge fan of overdyed stuff. But these shirts look great. Also I love the tarnish on the snaps.
-
No thanks. I'll just admire it from a distance

Judging by these pictures that is an excellent decision. These really are very flexible pieces of clothing, they work great over sweatshirts, hoodies and vests too.

Yes, looks great, and you wouldn't want an additional inch in those shoulders. It'll relax further, and you could get a thin wool thermal under there and you're good to go whatever the weather. Most importantly, looks sharp!
-
That's going to be great for years @Richard. That smidge too big is much better than a bit small restricting layering ability. I want one badly. I asked the wife, and i believe i was completely ignored.
Enjoy it before it gets too hot.

…so she didn’t say “no”, and you now have plausible deniability [emoji2369]

I have to know…did OD hurt you in the past?
I have OD'ed a couple of times.
I just think indigo evo is beautiful. So the OD puts the kybosh on that. Also I wore exclusively black clothes for like half of my life. So wearing blue stuff now is a nice change of pace. I think the XHS ib was a great compromise. Starts off black, then blue AF.

I hear ya. It does start out pretty dark. I too tend to lean towards earthy colors like browns, greens, and blues, but I always make an exception for OD because it's blue at its core

I like the indigo evolution better too, but I don't always like the double indigo look. Overdye is a lot easier to wear with indigo jeans, since it's more contrasty. I also have the ihsh33ind now, so this is less overlapping.
Been wearing the OD a bunch this past weekend and it's starting to soften a lot, especially in the elbows. It's a lot more comfortable today than it was last week. My only complaint is I wish it had a locker loop of some sort, so I could hang it on a hook easily, especially at the office. I'm thinking I might sew one in later.
-
Got mine last night and it's plenty "Iron". Glad to hear this fabric breaks in so nicely.
My only complaint is the sleeve-to-chest ratio. I'm 6'1 with broad shoulders, and with hands at my sides, the sleeves on the XXL come to within 1/2" of my knuckles. Hoping that some good elbow combs will effectively shorten the sleeves.

, the sleeves come to within 1/2" of my knuckles.
This is the main reason I started buying IH shirts… I love it ! You can always roll the sleeves up...I'm pretty sure the sleeves are cut long so they aren't short while riding a bike. Either way I hope they are kept long.
Shirt looks great on you btw !
