IHSH-293-OD - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
@AdamC absolutely. I am very happy with this shirt
-
18oz is amazing! I have the 101 jacket
-
To think when they first sampled the successor to the 177/178, they initially didn't think the 18oz vintage denim was worthy and almost didn't produce them (per Giles). My most impressive IH piece/fabric is this 293, and I have quite a few fabrics to compare to.
-
@jordanscollected totally agree with you on this ---my 18oz 292 is my go-to weight in these colder months-
I try to get as much wear time as I can before it starts to warm back up around spring time. Just a nice robust weight. -

Well I have the IHSH-178 and IHSH-293
I can tell the difference in both of them.
I have uploaded a picture see for self wheel back
IHSH-178 in my opinion more stubbornThanks Kasi. Are you talking about your pic of the 2 shirts side by side or a fade pic?
I find the IHSH-178 fades to a white without much blue poking through. From what I can see with the IHSH-293 is a lot more blue coming through which definitely interests me. I feel like I've been staring at some of the fade pics for so long I might just be imagining things though lol
-
The 178 is more of a heavier fabric thicker than the 293
You can tell the colour difference as well
Same goes for the indigo version too

Why does the restock of this shirt always comes at a time when i do not have spare funds to swing it...
-
IH crew - is this re-stock exactly the same as the 293 that was available several months ago? That is...the exact same fabric, and other aesthetic and construction details? Thanks in advance!
-
@singletrack
No crew, but even so. The restock will be all those things you mention, though there may be very slight
variations. If anything significant changes (like the fabric), they'll give it another product number. Like, before this shirt, there was one rather similar, the ihsh-178. But that was a different denim. -
The fabric will be exactly the same weave and construction, otherwise, as @Lowlander says, it'll have a new lot number. But It won't be exactly the same, because even in a 50-meter roll the denim can vary from one end to the other. We can't cut different pieces of a garment from different parts of a roll of denim otherwise you will notice differences in hue and possibly texture.
The only way to get consistency is to go synthetic.....
-
Thanks, @Giles and @Lowlander. I understand the minor fabric variations. You explained what I needed to know...thank you.
-
Those who own the 292, do you size up on the OD model or stay with the same
-
Trust the measurements @skong2099, but @Kasi Mo owns both maybe he can weigh in
-
@skong2099 depends on how you wanna wear it. As a standard shirt i would say the same, as a overshirt i would say size up! It’s od’d so it’s around half to a whole size smaller then the 292
-
I cant wait, definitely gonna be my new favorite piece. Could we please get this 18oz overdye fabric as a chore coat please
-
@skong2099 , I typically wear size L in IH shirts. This I went with XL, it’s fine to wear as overshirt and also as shirt. L would be uncomfortable for me.

Size chart updated. Addition of Tag XS.
@Graham, do you have a feel for what changed on the sizing chart this go around? Are you still a large? Also, are the waist and opening dims swapped in the chart? Seeing waists that are larger than openings on most sizes.
