@endo - it was really great! i am a big fan of EB, and never miss their shows when they come around. they seem to enjoy it, the sound is impressive and done with much attention to all the details. even the tropical conditions in the venue didnt bother me much
if you have a chance to see them - do it man. -
Incredible @prpx , they’re on my list of performances I’d love to see one of these days.
Thank you for sharing the photos, happy to see Blixa looking well -
@Mizmazzle Oh man watched from the couch last night. What a banger. Catching them at the Forum and Paso Robles pretty soon.
They are on fire right now. I feel like we are watching something pretty special. As dead heads my wife and I keep saying they are having their '77 tour right now.
What was your favorite songs from last night?
If anyone is interested they are streaming every show from their tour for free on their youtube channel. And they are going to play red rocks again today... twice...
-
@TENDREL @Mizmazzle ~ this description has caught my interest. What albums would you recommend checking out first? Never heard of them until just now.
-
@TENDREL dude it’s so rad they are live streaming their whole tour like they are. I agree…they are doing something really special. The genre transitions they go through live create a chapter like effect as the show progresses.
I’m a huge fan of their heavy stuff so Gila Monster and Planet B were fucking ripping.
The electronic block was really impressive too. Watching them all stand around the sound board and make those pulses and frequencies come to life like that was just incredible. Those dudes are insanely talented.
-
@Denman-John man, they are the most prolific and eclectic band you could imagine. They have damn near 30 albums. They range from stoner rock to thrash metal to feel good melodic psychedelic to electronic jams to carnival sounds tunes….all dripping with wizardry.
I think a great album to start with is this one:
https://open.spotify.com/album/6U3BrGxxVCFa7Z6GBXiY7M?si=5krT4KNySwybz5tZnzxLrg
I love their hard core stuff. They have a newer album that I really dig.
https://open.spotify.com/album/53X6xpjjMDMfZ5IWMyonvC?si=d0toew0WRRytcqfka_nhCQ
I’d say pick any of their albums and if that particular one is not to your tastes try another one. Haha. They are all so different.

@Mizmazzle I'm watching night two live on YouTube now, my favourite band without without question. The synth jams are phenomenal and everything just gels together so seemlessly, they were awesome when I saw them in May, but they've stepped up the game even further with the cameras on them this tour
-
@Denman-John put on any of their recent live shows and you'll be in for a treat!
As Miz said, catalogue is sooo diverse but here's a good resource for the studio albums!
This current live show...
'We've just gone over curfew, so we're gonna pay one more song...'
15 minute Float Along, Fill Your Lungs jam
-
@Mizmazzle I listened to to the one you went to in the gym this morning too! Dragon sounded so sick live, especially the occult-esque chanting towards the end.
As @TENDREL mentioned previously, I'm also a fan of The Grateful Dead, but they're not popular at all here in the UK so I only get to see tribute bands very occasionally..
From what I've read in books, and seen in documentaries, I agree that the current wave of gizz fever is the closest my generation is gonna get to getting on the bus and seeing it all unfurl in real time!
-
@Mizmazzle missed you! Made all 3. What a ridiculous band.
-
@mclaincausey I almost went last night too but couldn’t make it. Osees on Wednesday though!! So stoked.
-
Live and STP in Cuyahoga Falls(Cleveland) with friends. Live was my lovely wifes and my first show a loong time ago!
-
The KGLW run was amazing wire to wire. No one else is like them. Individual talent is off the charts and the egos mesh perfectly for a sum greater than the incredible parts.
They started playing the riff from Hell during Hot Water. It starts about 2:48:
This riff was picked off of a Herbie Mann tune called Uskudar from his album Impressions of the Middle East:
That’s the kind of stuff you get with them. Just crazy influences.

Man, I love these little flourishes.. hearing the baseline to Bitter Boogie during Daily Blues at the Red Rocks show really put a smile on my face, Paper Mache Dream Balloon was the record that got me hooked.
