@Graeme Looking forward to catching up with you and hearing about the good life down under.
-
@Danny RnH I'll see you then. I'm just worried about the damage any trip to the shop will do to my bank balance.

We just took delivery of the latest Ultra heavy Flannel from Iron Heart in the soothing purple/black Ombre pattern.
The aspero cotton used to make the shirt grows in the wild and is renowned for its strength and softness.
The flannel features permex snap closures and is double brushed on the interior for extra warmth. -
If you have ever coveted Real Japan Blues incredible mid-weight 14 oz left hand twill denim made with Zimbabwe cotton that fades like nothing else, and prefer a slim tapered mid-rise fit with subtle details such as indigo arcuates on the back pockets, then look out for our collaboration jean which we launch next week.
Real Japan Blues is the sister company of The Flat Head. It is a brand that obsesses over every detail of style and quality in equal measure.
-
@Danny RnH you have definitely got my interest with this collab. What day do you expect them to drop?
Also, do you know if these will have cotton stitching or cotton/poly stitching?
-
@manufc10 Thanks for the interest. We're really excited about this collaboration which took a long time to plan and get right.
All being well they will arrive from Japan on Monday and be online Wednesday evening.
They are stitched with cotton. However, The front and back pockets are double stitched. One of the threads is cotton, like everywhere else on the jeans, but the other one is polycotton.

-
@manufc10 $360 - $370 just need to properly cost them first against the JPY rate.
We will have both raw and one wash options.

Our long awaited collaboration with Real Japan Blues has landed. Using the much prized 14oz left hand twill Zimbabwe cotton famed for its character, texture and vertical fading properties, we have constructed a fit loosely based on The Flat Head 3002, one of our biggest sellers in store. Listening to feedback and customer requests, we slimmed down the taper through the lower leg. Once tamed, these are REALLY going to show some honeycombs.
The result is a sharp, super slim silhouette with a rise that some will find more comfortable than the lower rise usually found on slimmer cuts. With subtle toned down details such as indigo arcurates, black veg tanned deer leather patch and RJB crossed swords embroidered logo on the rear pocket the overall impression is exactly as we had hoped and planned for. We know you will enjoy wearing these as much as us and as much as we enjoyed creating them.
The jeans are available both raw and in one wash versions.

If you’ve had a Flat Head Block Check Flannel before then you already know how good they are. If you are new to The Flat Head and are wondering what all the fuss is about, then this is an ideal opportunity to find out. Made from 100% cotton selvedge, woven on shuttle looms and brushed on the inside, this version in midnight blue/black ticks all the boxes for an impeccably fitted and crafted heavyweight flannel to see in the winter.
Now available up to size 48 (and a 48 even means a 48!)

The Iron Heart N1 deck jackets are back. You’ll have to move fast to snap up one of these as their well-deserved reputation ensures they do not hang around for long. It’s easy to see why; Iron Heart keep the style clean and functional with no unnecessary branding or graphics - along with the construction and materials this creates an unbeatable piece.
Whipcord cotton outer, knitted storm cuffs, long pile Alpaca lining (even in the handwarmer pockets), quilted satin lined sleeves, heavy duty zip & button placket and a throat latch all combine to ensure maximum warmth, wind resistance and comfort in all but the coldest climes. If you only buy one winter jacket – make this it. You will thank yourself we promise.
Available in Black, Brown and Khaki.
No autumn drop would be complete without further UHF deliveries from Iron Heart. This time in purple/black and red/black Buffalo Check.
Constructed using the super soft, super strong and super long staple Aspero cotton, these shirts are brushed once on the face and then twice on the inside. This process imbues the 12oz fabric with a superior level of warmth and insulation – not to mention comfort. Being single, double and triple stitched ensures that its strength matches its softness. Perfect to last you through the coming winter and beyond.

Rogue Territory joined us earlier this year and we were exited about the FW16 delivery to get the blanket lined waxed canvas Supply Jacket on our rails. This classic core RGT piece uses a 100% wool lining from the Faribault Woolen Mills in the USA. The outer shell is made from a 10 oz American waxed canvas in field tan. RGT nails both fabric and fit with this classic jacket. The just get better looking with use.
New for FW16 are the Japanese Neppy Flannels available in navy in the Jumper Shirt and Slack in the western Shirt.
The mid weight fabric from Japan is yarn dyed and full of texture. Both shirts have tonal stitching for a clean sharp look. -

Now available online and in store is the Iron Heart Indigo Corduroy Western shirt. The rich indigo and corduroy texture are a unique but in our opinion totally winning combination. This is definitely going to be one of those wardrobe items that will look amazing with months and years of wear. The shirt features diamond shaped black and silver coloured snaps, chambray lined collar, cuffs and chest pocket flaps, felled seams and indigo needle yarn that will fade over time.

Apart from great company there are a few things that can enhance the comfort of any relaxing experience. A cold beer or a glass of fine wine in the comfort of your own home. A movie on the sofa. Good music at an outdoor venue. An absorbing book. Spectacular surroundings. A campfire. A sunny day at the beach. A sunset over a favourite view. There is something else that you might not have thought of that will contribute to and improve ALL these circumstances – a blanket of the finest Norwegian wool from the guys at Indigofera.
We are both proud stockists and owners of these blankets and have been waiting with great anticipation for this seasons releases. The new iterations have a strong connection to the ‘Old West’, with fantastic names that are just as evocative of a time and place as the images themselves – ‘Thunderbird Mesa’, 'Hassock Falls’, ‘Eagle’ and ‘Sheridan Lake’, to name but a few.
With this in mind it is with great pleasure that we celebrate the arrival of the new season's editions with a special event at our Windmill Street store on Wednesday 19th October from 7pm until 9pm (ish).
Mats – the owner of the brand – will be here to give a short talk regarding the process of construction and the inspiration behind the designs, and to share his knowledge and passion with all those who have an interest in quality clothing and textile craftsmanship. So come and join us for an evening of denim, blankets, stimulating conversation and of course, beer. We look forward to seeing you, both new friends and old!
Just let us know you are coming with a brief email with names to info@rivetandhide.com

We will leave you with these words from Mats:
"A blanket from the craftsmen at Indigofera is, besides a beloved friend that will age and gain patina through years of use, a handcrafted design piece that will add personality and colour to any home, couch, motorcycle or indeed, horse!Indigofera's wool blankets are made by a Norwegian woollen mill that has been weaving high quality wool products since 1940, building on a local tradition that goes back centuries. Selected wool from Norwegian sheep and 100% Norwegian production has earned them a reputation as one of the most renowned woollen mills in Europe.
Norwegian sheep graze on clean, fresh mountain pastures, making their wool pure and more environmentally-friendly than most textile fibres. This, in combination with the flexibility and insulation properties that are naturally developed in sheep that dwell in the cold Norwegian climate, is a fundamental reason for the superior quality and functionality.
Light up a bonfire, bring your blanket on a road trip or simply sit down and enjoy an old record in your favourite chair… the blanket is big enough to cover both yourself and the experience."

Mats Anderson, owner and founder of Indigofera will be here to give a short talk about what goes into the design and production of these beautiful 100% wool blankets from Norway.
We will be serving beers and you'll get the chance to talk to Mats who is without doubt one of the nicest guys in the denim business.
