Introduce Yourself Here

@SKT:
Hey everyone,
I’m Sean and I live in Springfield, MO (D’OH!) with my wife and two young kids. I’ve been reading the forum for quite a while and thought it was finally time to participate. I found IH while trying to minimize my wardrobe. I was searching for a well made pair of jeans that could take lots of wear and hold up. I love the idea of owning fewer, well made things that deliver value by doing what they were designed to do and lasting a long time. So in that regard, finding IH has been a bit of a double edged sword. IH clothes are incredibly well made and last, but my minimizing has been wrecked because there is so much awesome stuff! My first pair of jeans were the 666S-21L and they are incredible. I’ve added lots of pieces over the past couple of years and look forward to being active on the forum. You all have made it a great place to be!
Sean
Welcome, Sean…
Great intro and a perfect summary of what many have experienced. Resistance is generally futile [emoji1]

Have been into IH for the last couple of years. Live in Scotland but originally from NE England.
Read the forum often but have never got round to introducing myself or posting anything. I have determined this is going to change.
Although this is perhaps the wrong place to post this, I have a random question which I have yet to find out the answer to:
'What is the best method of getting rid of indigo transfer onto the leather patch?'
Sorry if there is an answer to this elsewhere but I have yet to find it!

@Crispy Heron yes, welcome. Good to have you here.
You'll struggle to get it all out. Saddle soap would work well to remove most of it, but saddle soap will create its own effect on the leather which may not be desirable.
I agree with @Giles oiling it will take away some of the colour while not removing the dye. It will also accelerate the process of the patina forming which is what will eventually render the indigo on veg tan contrast invisible.

Thanks for the kind welcome and the quick response.
Off to buy some saddle soap…

Solid pickup @seven7 , I love my ihsh-246, insisting on wearing it a couple times a week even though it's been way too hot. Welcome to the forum!

I've been alternating between a busted pair of old Edwin jeans, my IH double knee overalls, or my 25oz XHS. This has been the summer of sweating in Annapolis
