Watches - another OCD problem

So why are some pieces so unobtainable?
Impressive marketing?
Bingo.
Btw, I didnt know there was a Gulf branded Formula 1. Pretty sweet.
And custom strap

I don't get it either.
Rolex produce on the order of a million watches a year. So why are some pieces so unobtainable?
supply v demand…
I've put it down to controlled releases to stop a flood on the market. There's likely tons of stock. Every airport I've been to recently has had 1 on display ready to go. Another local authorized dealer thinks he can have 1 in sydney in 2 weeks. Maybe it's just marketing after all

you're not wrong in saying that. i can see that happening as they are the sort of company to not just push millions of products out on to the market and risk having too many out there.

went into the rolex store today to ask about a GMT Master 2 (and just try one on). The wait time for all models? 12 months! And they get 1 in stock each month. The first person to pay gets it. They give you 10 minutes from time of call to pay before calling the next in line. Ruthless!
Not the GMT Master 2 but still relevant…
