congrats mate. @Graeme

you did the customizing by yourself?
The one in my last post was customised by K-Speed in Bangkok. It's not my bike.
Mine's the one with the sold sign on it. It's still stock at present. I'm planning some mods, and will do some of the work myself. However, having seen the instructions for fitting the fairing, I might leave that to the dealer, as it looks pretty involved.

Nice filter there @Jordonf9.
I got the Thruxton home yesterday, with a rather slow and wobbly ride. I've not been on a bike in 18 months, not ridden in Australia before, and all the controls were in the wrong place! The older BMWs had indicator switches on each bar, similar to a Harley, but there's a separate cancel button, so I'm not used to the more conventional switch with a cancel button.
I need more practice!

Suus held a launch party for the new issue of Tank Moto, so I went along.
Custom painted fuel tanks by Karl Stehn.
This bike had a Boy Scout belt repurposed as a seat strap.
Triumph were a sponsor, and they brought along a few of their bikes, including a Thruxton in the wrong colour. There were a number of bikes parked outside, and if I'd known I'd have brought mine along.

A couple of scooters. The black one was described as a Desert Racer! :o
Choppers.
I chatted to the guy who built this BMW. It raced at the Bonneville Speed Trials in 2015, hitting 210 km/h / 130 mph, which isn't bad off an old Boxer. In fact, the original engine had blown up on the dyno a few days before he headed out, so he had to swap it out for one he had in a Café Racer. This is the sort of look I'd like to build my Thruxton to have.
The builder is into his Guzzis too - I'll have to drag @GuzziRob along to his workshop when he's over next year…

then show us your build….
