White's Boots

And Hickory and Chambray and Ventile and…..

Those pics show everything I love about SD's, stunning

btw. does anybody know if black dress behaves the same way as brown dress (as seen above)?…
In terms of evo? I certainly creases up exactly like that, and that is exactly why I've gone for it in my comp pair.
Dress over CXL every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

damn! cats paw soles!
-
where have you got those cats paw soles though? guessing those were added afterwards during a resole!?
Yes, i was so lucky to have the previous owner have the CP soles and heels added, they are true vintage CP no repro.
Sadly they're pretty much done now, so these need a resole, the nails on the heels are scratching the sidewalk.
thinking of going with Vibram 705 or Biltrite halfsole and CP heels. -

think i'll go…
black cxl,
single midsole,
vibram 430 mini vib sole,
standard heel,
1/4" lowered,
brass (or black or antique) eyes&hooksthat should do the trick!
That's a nice build. Classic, really. SD or BH?

I have to say, I dislike the flimsy laces White's packs with the Semi-Dress. I have been looking for really (!) well made laces for a while, but so far, I have't found what I am looking for. Either they are too loosely knit (which makes them unravel and catch the hooks) and/or the ends splice too soon. Any recommendation?

SD it is…plus I'll have baker's add a nice little surprise to really make it something special!

I used to feel this way about SD laces (the standard ones with the Oxfords are even worse), until I looked for something better. The thin standard laces are actually tough as fuck, never snapped one yet although I've snapped plenty of more substantial looking laces.
