White's Boots
-
@Anesthetist I am with you, had the same "problem" with my first BH´s, but I traded the pair. I have a pair SJ´s with the cuban heel, and they are awesome!

Might have to see if Brian could do that mod.

Hope so!!! German cobblers dont like american workboots

Looks like Smoke Jumpers, not sure they are White's. Is White's stamped anywhere on the boot? The way the boot is stitched and the last looks like White's. As far as the leather, they don't look like buffalo to me - maybe horse, although thats not so common in White's. "Looks" like standard black cowhide, but hard to tell. Looks like these have been used as work boots, so less likely that it's an exotic leather imo. The double leather on the inner sides of the boots is also unusual, more like a lineman boot feature?? I don't see that feature offered as a White's option on Baker's…
Whites isn't stamped anywhere, but the sizing 10 1/2 C is the same style lettering as my semi-dresses located in the same place too. – with the "c" sizing option I'm thinking that i guess they could be a custom boot, but not entirely sure.
that little extra piece of leather has been confusing to me too def. more like the lineman for sure
anyone else have any ideas???

Those look like a semi-LTT. Dont really make it to the toe as far as ive seen. Good lookin boots tho

I'm really starting to warm up to the lace-to-toe style, something is never had considered a year ago.
And I'm starting to like the look of the Cuban heel… what's happening to me!
I am still totally on board with the straight heel. I understand the functionality of the Cuban, but it will always look weird to me…

I wear both and enjoy both and find people who don't to be odd

These have been to hell and back to say the least.
Custom White's Packers that were originally rough out and now, well, not really. The tounges really only show the true original color.
I have a feeling that these may be the most beat pair on here, but they have never failed me and i still wear them almost everyday at work. I'm an manufacturing engineer at an aerospace company so i stand in oil all day.
i don't think i could ever part with them after this long.

@aho:
Catchgeo, you win!
Glad to see that work boots are being worn for real work; conditions my pairs will never see as I have a desk job!
How long have you had them, and do you plan on sending them back to White's for a rebuild?
ive had them a little over 4 years. i wasn't the first to have them: i bought them second hand off of eBay
Trust me, they were in a lot better shape before i got my hands on them. As to the actual age of the boot – i really have no idea. They have officially lost their waterproofness, if i stand in a puddle i get wet, so they mostly a summer work boot now -- hence i should prob. think about a resole, but honestly i don't really want to loose any of the character.
the tounges are regular leather, and the outside was rough out, but now from all the wear and oils that i work with turned back into a standard leather. the only part that still has the appearance of the rough out is the way top of the boot and around the eyelets.
i believe them to be the reddish leather that you can see in the tounge, but have never really known the true original make.

i cant justify it seeing as how i just bought a pair, but here's another pair in my size if anyone wears the same size

The boot looks lovely, but I really dont like the buckles.
