IH-777S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo
-
When I ordered my 777’s I had them hemmed to the same length I as I do for all my 666’s and they fit about .5”=.75” shorter.
-
Thank you very much @xtcclassic that’s a tremendous help
-
You could do what neph recommended on your own, it's just going to take a little longer to get the correct length.
don't let anyone see behind that curtain, you will never hear the end of it.
as a way to poke fun at me my wonderful spouse has various passwords (that we share like joint accounts and alarm systems) with reference to denim and iron heart and she always finds it funny when say the motion detector is set off and the alarm system folks call and I have to tell them my safe word is "chainstitch", "honeycombs", or "jean pocket" jeez ::)

Does anyone have experience with these and a 634 or 888 cut? I’m wondering if the inseam length needs to be changed due to the lower rise? Short of having a tailor measure me up I will be hemming based on my other jeans. Let me know if I need to clarify. Thanks
Hey Matt. I’ve have experienced all those cuts. For the 777 I made my inseam .5” longer. However I usually cuff this pair.
I will also support Max’s statement on that it shouldn’t have too much impact on the inseam since the rise is all where is lays on your hips
Hope your tailoring goes well.

Thanks @Fadez I’m thinking I’ll leave it about .75 longer than I
Normally would. I can always hem them again. Too long doesn’t bug me. Too short is a disaster -

Haha. Thanks @Madmonday I will give it a whirl now before I drop them at the post office. That’s a funny story. Thanks for sharing.

Got these back from indigoproof yesterday. Haven’t taken them off since. I missed the 21oz. Fit pics in the next day or two or 3. I love these

Got presents today.
Did anyone work up a sweat trying to button these? I’m glad the buttons didn’t pop off! Loving the 21 oz. so far it definitely feels like quality material. can’t wait to see how these break in and develop.

Thanks Adam! I’m really enjoying the 777 fit.

Ho bradda @Matty123 looking good! Maybe we can be twins and rock the IH’s on a job site one day in Hawaii nei
-
@Matty123 and @RoxRocks86 bonding over Hawaii, construction and badass 777 fits. I love it.
Rox, are you going to taper the 21oz as well? Not suggesting you need to, they look great, but if you do I'll be interested to hear how you get on compared to working with the 14oz. My seamstress has tapered 17oz duck, done hemming on 18-21oz IH and repaired holes in 25oz. She won't hem anything over 21oz and won't taper anything over 18oz. She's a regular seamstress and dressmaker though, not a denim specialist.
-
@neph93 lol she must look forward to when you bring your threads in. Not sure yet about tapering due to the thicker material. Kinda liking it as is, but gonna wait till after break in to see how they stretch. Might do some testing on the cut-offs.

She actually digs the quality and the fact that I get things repaired. I have one pair of IH-555-01 she’s fixed three times.
Her problem with the heavy stuff is that her machine doesn’t like it and the needles break a lot. She says she’d have to charge me more but couldn’t guarantee the quality of her work. She’s really good otherwise and has done great work taking in shirts and vests for me.
I’ve darned both 21 and 25oz by hand before. A pair of pliers to pull the needle through saves your thumbs, but it’s doable. So doing the work by hand is a possibility.
