Recommend me a heavyweight denim 20oz PLUS

@Filthy25ozJunkie:
Cool, I'm pretty stoked these are going to get a new home. The good news for you is they are really nicely broken in. The denim has softened up nicely. They aren't baby kitten soft yet. But better than them being brand new.
In the worsh. The water is scalding hot. Too hot to submerge my hands in. So they should shrink a little more.
Thanks Mike… also I see some Thunder Soap! I have some ready for a 6 month wash for my Hiuts too!

Yeah I'm trying to use it up. I prefer this stuff called Fels Naptha. See my thread in the resource center forum. It's a lot cheaper and it seems to get the jeans cleaner and doesn't leave a residue or heavy smell.

Looking forward to trying it out… been using woolite dark at 40'c in the bath tub so far.

The Thunder Soap has got a weird smell. It kind of smells like natural rubber pencil erasers. With like a sassafras fragrance too. The box sure is cool though. I used Google translator to completely translate the entire box one time because I found it to be so fascinating.

Would be interested in that translation if you still have it!

If you have a smart phone just use Google translator and there's a camera part where you take pictures and it auto translates.

lol…but well worth it for kicking the habit. congratulations on that.

Thanks. I quit using 'smack' but quitting smoking was super tough. There's several meanings to my username. Now I need to quit coffee, booze, petting cats, and iron heart. But I don't ever see that happening. :o

you've got the addictive personality like a lot of us. As long the addiction/hobby is hurting you or anyone else then there's no harm.
-
wait…did you say petting cats??? lol
-
Yes. I did say petting cats. I only have one. But I often go to the shelter and think about adopting them all. I can't explain it. But if I could spend all day with my cat and never leave the house, I certainly would.

@DevonReviewer my first pair of proper jeans were Hiuts and I quite liked them at the time. While I completely understand that dropping £300 on a pair of jeans might seem a bit much if you haven't done it before, once you get a pair of IH you'll wonder why you hesitated. I don't know how much Hiut's are going for these days, but even if there's a £100 price difference, I'll bet my right nut that you'll understand where the money went when you get your hands on the IH jeans.

Knee 8.75
Inseam 36.5
Hem opening 8.5
Rear rise 16
Front rise 11.8Hey Mike, those measurements are sounding pretty good to me, looking back at some measurements I took on my Levis 511 after 6 months wear they were:
Inseam 33in
Thigh 22in
Knee 16in
Cuff 14in
Waist 34inAnd feeling a little loose on the waist, given you have just hot washed the IH's we may be heading for a great fit with a bit of wear!
The wear you have put into them looks great, I havent really achieved crisp fades like that, may be down to denim, weight, or simply amount of wear?
Thanks for the generous offer, I will PM you!
Best regards,
Chris -
@DevonReviewer crisp fades like that are due to several factors: the thickness of denim, the dye, and wearing them for a long time and not washing them. Iron Heart jeans are the very best money can buy. Both in their construction and materials. And the people who own the company and who work for them are truly fabulous people.

Well thanks to Mike (@Filthy25ozJunkie) the jeans arrived today, I can instantly understand what IH is about now. The density of indigo even after some wear and washing is beyond any other jean I have handled. And the weight is a delight! This brand is worth the premium!
The fit is great, the waist is snug but will get there after a week or so's good wear I think, the fit overall is great. I had previously thought of going 31 on my first pair… I think this may have put me in hospital! Definitely 33 or 32 at a push on a slightly lighter denim I think... Incidentally, the penny is my birth year so I had a feeling this would work out well.
I will get some pics up on the forum shortly.
I am completely stunned by Mike's kindness, this really is a great forum. Thank you for facilitating my first IH experience, I now fully understand!
Best regards,
