Are the 25oz more breathable than the original 18oz?

I'd say so yes. The 18oz and UHR are the two IH denims that breathe the least.
Oh damn…you've just given me a ray of light. I've never really given them a second thought since I live in the middle of a desert but if they are that breathable then they might be doable for winter.

Nice! They're don't let the air circulate like the 21oz but this summer I was doing physical work in mine in 20C and not sweating unduly. Given that you prefer a looser fit as well you may be positively surprised.
Oh man… only 20s? I wish that was as warm as it got here in NYC... I'm from Michigan, so sometimes it got close to the 30s, but NYC it happens a lot and it's super humid from the ocean [emoji21] I melt from May to Sept. Then wear a denim jacket most of the winter season [emoji38]

My brother lives in Brooklyn and complains regularly about the heat. I spent five days in Manhattan in May a few years back and suffered in 21oz.
I live north of the arctic circle so anything over 25C is a rarity. I think we had maybe a dozen 20C+ days this summer.
Lol yeah Brooklyn here too. Where do you live? Canada, or Scandinavia?

Neph Im 45 miles north NYC and we experience the same weather. the 21 oz was tolerable for me all summer but the pronto 25 was brutal. be sure to let me know if you ever come back to NY. ill buy you a beer.

For sure! I'll be doing it in the course of 2018 I reckon. We can make a thing of it and summon the whole of the east coast contingent!

Btw, not sure if anyone's using the 18oz vintage for this contest but I think that would be a cool choice for this. They have a unique Indigo hue right out of the bag compared to most raw denim. They are also very breathable so in most climates you can literally wear them year round and be relatively comfortable. They have a very good blend of weight and wearability. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out how comfortable these were to wear in Phoenix during the summer months. Sure they were hot in the peak summer months but I actually wore them more than my 14oz this summer which was completely unexpected. I would say I could wear these 11 months out of the year here which is saying something for a pair of 18oz jeans in Phoenix.
The fades also look very promising.
