This situation brings up an interesting question: Should you hem pre- or post-soak?
I'm leaning towards pre-soak.
Since I have to send them away, I have to fold them, and then they will be folded again on the return shipment.
I don't want to have fades on the fold lines while they're sitting in the boxWhat do you think? I'm pretty sure about the hem length with 2-2.5" shrinkage, so I'm only concerned with the fold lines during shipping. I think they will ship better pre-soak? Does this seem reasonable?

I'd do it post soak so you know how much you want off. If you do it pre soak, you're just guessing…
Also, they don't shrink that much. Mine were Japanese length, so I think 35 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). After 9 months they're 34.5

always hem POST-soak i
d say… you never know how many inches the denim
s REALLY gonna shrink...so yeah. post-soak would be you savest bet!don
t worry about the fades during folding, cuz there will be non! if there are still some foldmarks visible, don
t very cuz they will fade away with wear anyway ;)... -
I was just wondering….
what kind of shrinkage is there to be expected if I do very hot soak in thigh and hem width?
My annies are soaked once and one delicate cycle in 40°C, no spinning. I didn't get any shrinkage, I think, widthwise and just barely something in lenght....

I got shrinkage of 1,5" in the inseam with a hot soak (30°C)
