Well first off, I have to say that I like the hat very much and it fits very well.
It is definitely a bit different than I thought. It's pretty "organic". Super soft and flexible. Almost home made feeling…
The bill seems to be two pieces of denim sewn together with a thin soft foam piece in between, not rigid at all, though it will retain its shape well. Under the inner flap all of the rough fabric ends and stray thread is visible. It is covered up by a loose lining but a little bit of a strange departure from the strict attention to detail I've seen in other IH gear. (I'll put up some pics asap).
I can't say I would have minded the red W or small IH patch on the outside (or some sort of selvedge detail on the inside), but not the end of the world. It is really nice to have that beautiful denim encasing your head. All in all, I love the fit and feel but was a bit perplexed by all the ragged fabric ends on the inside. I have no idea at all what it takes to make a hat though, so I can't judge...
My initial impression is that this will appeal to the serious denim lover, although it doesn't have a traditional baseball hat feel (much softer and more pliable).
Detail pics tomorrow...
P.S. Hey Giles, just curious...Is this the denim from the 634S or 634? -
Still loving the hat. Definitely becoming a daily driver…
Here are a couple of pics of the inside that shows that issue under the lining.

Under lining…
Definitely can't feel it or really see it so ultimately not a big deal, probably being a little too anal. Can't get over how great the "natural" sort of feel is when wearing. I usually feel restricted when wearing a ball cap, but this is so comfy it's hard not to wear…

An unfinished edge under a baseball cap lining is normal, that area should have been clipped a bit more but it being unfinished and even a bit frayed is normal even on the highest end New Era caps available.

Looks great to me, I'd love one of those. I'm guessing they're not in stock right now from the comments above?
