Worth a shot…thanks.

Simply for discussions sake, and prompted by my noticing that my Momotaro tee has side seams, and my consideration of buying some 8301's.
How much actual value do people put in things like "loop wheeled" and "selvedge"? How does it affect your decision to purchase?
Also, is selvedge more important on jeans than a jacket?

8301s?…you know they´re pretty slim, don´t ya ^^
selvage is important for young guns that are just stepping up their denim game from nudie to their first pair of jap. denim...not really needed tbh. and i´m not looking for it, when buying a pair of jeans or a jacket!
it´s all about the fit baby...same with lw or not! not really looking for it...if the fit and feel is a great one, idgaf!

Found a pair of 8301's for reasonable cost, in my size. If they look like crap on me I will get the $ back in a heartbeat
My feelings are similar, not being loopwheeled does not make me like the Momo shirt any less, and lack of selvedge hasn't made me think about not buying the 8301's. Just wanted to know the opinion of others.
Thank you

where from? (pm!)

Selvedge is definitely a factor for me. After having it its difficult to go back to something that for me at least looks a lot less "clean."
Also, I'm not sure about loopwheeled. I sold my THC tee because I didn't like how it draped on me and I vastly preferred my loopwheeled iron heart one. I do have a true loopwheeled flat head tee on its way though so ill see if there is a different between feels in that company at least.

I certainly prefer selvedge, but hey I am kinda a newbie so what do I know…

i cuff every thing own basically and i dont like the lack of a selvedge line
that said if youre not gonna cuff (black jeans look better not cuffed) it is irrelevant as they are well made (obviously) jeanson this note i was noticing my collection of jeans and i really like back pocket accurates and think jeans look unfinihed without them but half the jeans i own dont have them, and i own a pair with "stealth ones which im normally not keen on either? so maybe im just talking out my ass and dont really know
mega just buy the trousers and rock them
(loop wheeled i have no opinion yet….)

What about selvedge on jackets? More or less important?
-
Having (quality) selvedge fabric matters to me because of its irregularity and fading properties. There is a lot of junk selvedge denim out there too and other factors like the cotton used and the dying process are equally important. Having a visible selvedge at the side seem is less important, but the edge is still very much part of the detailing on a classic pair of jeans.

id say less
but it is a nice touch

probably the best selling ih jacket, no selvedge there
i really dig selvedge cuff details
i think that would make my buy one jacket over another, not a selvedge line on the inside of the button flap -
I really like the selvedge edge, but rarely show it, especially now that every hipster in downtown Toronto is cuffing/rolling their jeans. It's a nice detail and I wish it wasn't getting bastardized by cheap brands.
And while I appreciate loopwheeled fabric, it's a bit of an irritation in that there are no seams for alteration. My IHSW-06 is now too wide as is last year's forum t.
