Any chance of seeing jackets (type 3 or the like) in size 48? I for one would like that, but since 46's always seem to go last I assume 48's wouldn't sell well enough.

RE: ULTRA HEAVY RAW - IH-1955-UHR, IH-666-UHR and IH-634-UHR
Giles, in the 1955S thread you said that you had to make and sell at least 100 pairs of a particular jean in order to profit. Does the same math apply for this denim? For instance, does it cost you more to make 700 634S and 40 1955S, than just 740 634S? Just curious
I'm not sure I ever said "to profit", but the basic rule is, I can't make less than 100 jeans of a material/cut without pissing off the factory. I'm ugly enough to not care about pissing them off occasionally, but each time I do that, my ability to ask for favours diminishes, so I try not to…...
No, you never said profit. I just assumed that's what you meant. Gotcha
Oh, by the way, you could make a hell of a lot of coasters

RE: ULTRA HEAVY RAW - IH-1955-UHR, IH-666-UHR and IH-634-UHR
I already own a 1955, and I would buy another pair in this denim. I don't have any strong opinions about the rise, but I agree with those who say that a lower rise would sell better and make for a good, universal cut. Personally, I'd also prefer even more taper from the knee and down.

RE: IH-9527J - 21oz Denim Rider's Jacket - Superblack Non-Fade
Thanks for the service Giles. Unfortunately it will be too tight in the arms. Really wanted to get the leather jacket look without actual leather. Now I'll have to look elsewhere for something that is bound to be not as good :-\
Don't bodybuild, folks

Gotcha. I'll email you the link to this post then, since the formatting already is right, okay?

RE: IH-9527J - 21oz Denim Rider's Jacket - Superblack Non-Fade
Hi Giles!
I'm seriously considering buying this jacket, but I'm not sure if the XXXL will fit. I've compared the measurements of the XXXL jacket and an XL shirt that I own, and attached pics of the shirt as well.
XXXL jacket XL shirt
Shoulders 53.1 53 :-\ Shoulder fit on shirt is spot on. Couldn't be any smaller though.
Length 68.6 77 The jacket is supposed to be short. Non issue.
Chest 120.9 118 Chest fit in shirt is spot on. Less free space than opening though.
Opening 111.0 111 I have a narrow waist. I have some free space in my shirt opening.
Arm 72.4 68 I have long arms. Shirt sleeves are actually a tad short.Questions

As you can see from the pictures and the measurements, the chest/shoulder area is going to be the tightest for me. The shirt in question fits nicely, but I can feel it tighten up a bit in the upper back when I put my arms completely in front of my body. Would you say that the action bi-swing will help counter this? I'm basically hoping to hear that the shoulders/upper back will act bigger than the specified 53.1 cm

Could you measure the upper arm width of the jacket, approximately on the middle of the upper arm? My arm circumference (44 cm at the middle) tends to be an issue with fitted shirts and jackets like this.
Thanks a lot!

RE: 2013 Autumn/Winter Pipeline
Loving the green flannel, as well as the black quilted rider jacket.
How thick is the quilted lining? Will the jackets be sized the same as the unlined versions, or will they be slightly bigger to compensate for the lining?

RE: The Evolution of Iron Heart
As requested by Seul - SExIH03
Bought these back in 2007. 33" waist, original 35.4" inseam. I stopped wearing them 3 years ago, since they became too tight for daily wear, and fell apart. They have been laying around in the closet since, but I put them on for comparison since I just received my second pair of IH. Thinking about sending these to the denim doctor, and maybe start wearing them occasionally.
Neither the lightning, camera equipment or the drunk photographer are good enough to capture the textures, but here goes:

RE: 1955S - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
Hi Giles and everyone else!
I got my 1955s on Monday, and I'm really pleased with them. Last time I wore a new pair of Iron Hearts was back in 2007, so I was really excited to receive a new pair. I had forgotten how heavy and stiff these jeans are when new I could probably write a page on why Iron Hearts are so great, but I guess most of you guys know. What's unique about these though is that the back pockets are lined and the belt loops are sewn into the waistband. My OCD is satisfied, indeed
I am about 6'1" tall and weigh around 220lbs. I wear a 34" waist in these, just like in most other jeans that fit me. I got this pair hemmed to 35" (thanks Giles), and they are rolled up 4 times in the photos.
Here's me wearing my long ago retired SExIH03 in a 33" waist, just for comparison:
