IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

could you do measurements when you get them back. I'd like to see if they differ. What's your gut feeling about this?
Here you go IJ both size 34
SR XHS
Thigh 336mm 338mm
Knee 240mm 248mm
Hem 230mm 236mm
So yes, just a bit looser.

It's been a gourd thanksgiving!
634-XHS Style! -
the difference is very small (2 mmm in thigh!!!) and may vary from one piece to another.
IMHO you might even find a pair of XHS tighter than a pair of 634S!@Jsticklee: great!

Are these jeans comfortable? I can understand the fan-boy appreciation for a new model of Iron Heart jean that expands what seems to be outside the realm of possibility but, for those in possession of the 25 oz denim, are they truly wearable? Does the interest solely lie within "denim-geeks" who believe these new jeans will have wicked-rad fadez? I am sincerely interested in hearing an objective opinion–if that's possible to attain around here--as I'll be directing more attention to how I select my next pair of jeans.

Great point. I'd swear the 36 waist/cuff in my 634-XHS is tighter than my 634-b. I frigging love the fit. (and sleeping standing)
Edit for shoreman: These out of the box felt like two pair of 634 regular. Still sorta soft on the inside. I have a small cut on my knee from friday morning right on my rub spot.(work injury) I went all day in a hot hot sun. My cut never bled, nor was it annoyed by the fresh denim. I could not have worn my new Wranglers. The stiffness of the denim allows air to pass up the legs in nice breezes.

Thanks for the input, J. Would you say that during its break-in period, the material tends to fold in unison while walking? ( Meaning, rather than the individual wearing the jeans with the material hanging off you, does the jean tend to wear the individual?) Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to determine the practicality of 25oz denim.

It's week one.. I still have small hip fins(getting smaller).. These have been super, super fast to develop folds. my honeycomb is in the house…. I get chills. They don't bend with ease all over but now that they have knee folds I can take them off and swing them like a robot leg at the knee.. The folds are like hinges already.. That said I am now walking normaly again. I don't notice them rubbing much more than normal on a long walk.. I think these are about as form fit as 25oz straight leg can be out of the box..
-These are all just opinons... Ask yourself... Am I tough enough? LOL ::)

It isn't an issue of being tough, ha, it's a matter of whether I am patient enough; a virtue I am not necessarily in great supply of.

Sorry.. I love that line.. I've always loved heavy So the XHS was for me. I checked comfort at the door but was suprised to meet her again at the table.. Really, these are a suprise for being able to get into them and wear them without hassle.. Haraki must have spent Months? Years? Pulling punches on the weight to tune it down to the heaviest wearable denim I've ever seen..

I second pretty much everything that has just been said.
These are really surprisingly comfortable, really stiff in the beginning but not uncomfortably so. They have no "cardboard feeling", that's the best expression I can think of. They do severly restrict movement in the beginning, though. The first couple of days I was NOT able to adjust the cuffs without taking them off (and no, that's not because they are too tight ;)). Also I tend to take two steps at a time when climbing stairs, a feat that became doable again only after about 10 days of wear.
All in all: I once decided never to fall for what I perceived as the super heavyweight hype (i.e >21oz), thinking that 21 oz IH would be the limit for me. I wouldn't have fallen for these if they hadn't been the anniversary model of my favourite denim dealern(VMC in Zürich). I can report that I am more than happy that I changed my mind -

I'm wearing the 666 version of this jeans, but since its the same material i think i can still say something about them anyway.
The first week is the hardest i'd say. It may be hard to get them on/off, and you'll have a robot-style feeling the first times wearing them, but they definitely did grow on me.
The jeans will settle and get more movability (biking and working in them helped a lot), so they get better with every day.So yea, you still may need some patience but its nothing to worry about.

Are these jeans comfortable?
since you seem to be a hands on guy i can send you a piece of the denim & you can make your own determination. i had mine (666 25oz) chopped & G$ sent the stumps to me. PM me your info & I'll get it out on Tuesday or Wednesday.
seems the most practical way to tell if you like the denim, of course you won't really know until you try on a pair, but still better than everyone's biased opinions.

I appreciate the offer, Mike. However, I think I'm settled on sizing up in the Busters when there is a restock in 32 and then beating those into the ground. I'll hopefully work my way up to 25oz. For now, it'll have to wait.

I got my inner thigh tattooed the other day and I haven't dared put either my 666 or my 634 in their 25oz version. It's been 2 days since the guy inked me and the scars are starting to solidify, maybe in a couple of days, I could put them back on.

Shoreman is right. As I said in the 666XHS thread, I'm still waiting. This afternoon, after one week, I came out wearing my 12oz wabash pants. I missed my 25oz monsters. I like them, a lot. I like how they fit, I like the sensation over my skin, but i cannot say yet if they are breakable or not, if they are really wearable, on the long distance. I remember when I broke in my 634sr, it took almost 20 days of worn, but now they are really comfortable. Will be the same for these needle-finger-breakers? it's too early to tell.
