It's finally official– I've joined the IH family. These were waiting for me when I came home for lunch today, so I threw them on for a quick fit pic:

Putting them on for the first time was easier than I feared, considering that I ordered them to fit my thighs which meant the advertised waist measurement was about an inch smaller than my true waist. I didn't even break one finger! I thought day one would be a much more brutal experience, but they were comfortable as soon as I put them on. The denim is, of course, amazing and is so dark it might as well be black. The color reminds me of my WWII peacoat. Can't wait to see how they fade.

xtc really great fit.  my pockets look  low as hell,  but yours look to be in the right place.

also nice boot & DUNE on book shelf is a plus as it's a lot of sci-fi diehards on the forum

Can you elaborate on why there your favorite? They look awesome by the way, how did you figure out sizing

the fit on these really works well for me, they're probably my best fitting jeans, and I really like the denim I think it's a special one and is gonna age beautifully

on sizing I took kiya's advice, his recommendation matched what I thought I needed going off the thigh numbers

fit is really great imo, not my cut but looks spot on for you

Those look perfect, Jacoavlu. I'll be watching to see how yours fade, since mine won't see much wear until January 2013 because I'm committed to my Samurai S710xx's until then for the Heavyweight Denim Competition on superfuture.

And Madmonday, I don't think your pockets look much lower than mine from the pics I've seen. They look great on you as well.

Ditto that those looks great on you, Jaco.  I just could not make the fit work on me.  It's a shame because the detail and denim on these is awesome.

Why didn't the fit work for you? I'm worried yet again cause I ordered a 34 and the waist was massively to big, now I ordered 32 but worried about thighs

Hi.

I also ordered these in a size 31 (im a size 33 in the 666XHS), and i hope the size chart from SE is exact. The size 31 is almost the same as the 666 xhs, and exactly the same in the thighs (11,7) - The reason that Giles measure 12 inch is, as described earlier in this thread, that SE thigh measure is 1 inch below crotch.
My 666xhs are now 60 days of almost constant wear, and the thighs have finally stretched enough for me to feel left foot
again.

Jaco, so how long will you go without a wash?

I soaked mine last night 20 mins warm to get rid of any shrink before sending them back to take some more length off, they shrank 0.5 inch in length, negligible in waist and thigh,  stiffened up quite a bit and the denim feels a bit more coarse. I'll wash them once they get too dirty or stinky, who knows

So true, I washed the 34 I had to try to shrink them they came out coarse and stiff as a board, I'm thinking when I get this other 32 pair in I'm gonna try not to wash for months. I'm in love with the denim though, I can't wait to see the fades, and the evolution of them over multiple years, they seem like they have the propensity to change immensely over time.
