I thought I'd throw up this clip of a young Eric Clapton. This was from the Rolling Stones Rock N Roll Circus that was taped in 1968. It wasn't aired until the late 90's after being shelved all those years. Eric plays lead in this one off supergroup The Dirty Mac, led by John Lennon, Keith Richards (on bass) & Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix). This clip is of the Beatles song Yer Blues. Notice John in the full on Canadian tux, there was no doubt that he was a denim freak like us. Enjoy…

I got one more for y'all. It's from the Steeldrivers. They are a bluegrass band from Nashville, TN. The band was started by Chris Stapleton. He's a songwriter and has written for Kenny Chesney and Trace Adkins. He makes big bucks writing, but his passion is bluegrass. However, he left the band to write more and raise his family, so it's not possible to see him live anymore. The new singer kind of sucks, but Chris' vocals cannot be matched. I used to live in Memphis, so that is how I got into bluegrass. It's either that or country and I'm straight with modern/contemporary country. I used to drive solo to Nashville on the weekends to see shows at the Station Inn. The Station Inn is another whole story in itself.
The tune is Drinkin' Dark Whiskey. Great Saturday tune. Bet ya didn't see this one comin'. Enjoy.
Ignore the corny graphic while listening to this tune…

Going to see The Black Keys on Saturday night in AC. Early birthday gift from my lady. Should be a good time.
-
Should be a good show. Saw them at Austin City Limits Festival in 2010 and they were solid. Been a big fan of them since Rubber Factory.

Right on. Yeah looking forward to it for sure.
Nice L. Where at?
A brand new Hotel called Revel.
Hopefully Boardwalk Hall, best kept secret in NJ. It's from the 20's and the whole inside is tile, so the acoustics are out of this world.
Sounds pretty special. I will definitely keep that in mind for the future.
I'll be in AC over June 15-17 to see Phish, if anyone wants to get silly with me and derivative666.
I could be down…

That weekend is gonna be out of control

to my Brooklyn brothers. I had the honor to visit a concert when I was around 14 or 15 in Zurich in a really old house in the earlier drug scene district…but everything was cool and safe for that time. It was their 2nd concert in Switzerland. the guys were so cool, shake hands and small talk. for me it was the best concert and experience with real rockstars ever. The house almost collapsed that night as everybody was jumpin around, took their tshirts off etc...I still listen to their music, especially the Album Urban Discipline.
This is the song of my youth, yeeeeeeeeeah in meeeeeeeeee:
to give you an idea of the live power of this band at the beginning of their "commercial" career in the early 90s

Good call on Biohazard Davito! It's been a while for me but they were awesome when I was a teenager. I saw them when I was 12 at Donnington Monsters of Rock 1994 and still remember when they said "there's seven of these guys in yellow jackets and thousands of you guys so come up on stage!". The stage invasion was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. They got me into other NYHC like Sick of it All and Cro Mags and led me down some interesting roads in life.
