BiG (Blue In Green)
-
Glad to hear ur not offended…As for BIG I need to take advantage of them a lot more as well as SENY. I have become such a huge online shopper it keeps me from leaving my computer to shop. I'm about to change that with BIG and my soon to be purchased Sammies
-
Sal, be careful with Rakuten, I know few people who got burned by them…They take your money, cancel your
order and if you get lucky enough to receive the product they tack on extra customs charges or send a
similar item than what you ordered. Go to BIG and get your Sammies, Gordon is a great guy, don't want you
to get took by Rakuten buddy. -
DD, BiG is a great store, and Gordon and his crew are super helpful, they will sort you out no problem. Whilst you're in there check out some of the other cool stuff they have, like the Samurai shirts and jackets, and the Studio D'artisan jeans, beautiful denim.
-
never heard of something like that happening before, Blackheart!
Well I don't use Rakuten, I order directly from the shops there by dropping them an email. It's simpler IMO and you get better service (as long as they are able to speak/read/write English).
Customs is something the shops aren't responsible for. Some shops mark as a gift with low value some don't but in the end it's the custom guys who decide if they trust those statements. I think you guys in the US are quite safe with additional custom fees. Here in Germany/Europe you have to pay customs (VAT) if the value of the package is above 40€ (IIIRC) and if it's over 150€ you have to pay VAT plus extra fees, depending on what you bought… -
Oh yeah b_F, I know how the whole VAT thing goes, been to Europe several times…A friend of mine ordered
a pair of Sammies from Rakuten about a year ago and had a hell of a time with them. They cancelled his
order by mistake then he was sent the wrong jeans and got hit with a large customs charge. Another friend
ordered a leather wallet, they took her money and never sent her the wallet...After many e-mails to them she
never got her money back.
Bit like you said it depends on who you're dealing with, I like dealing with the shops directly too. -
Thanks for all the great advice..I received an email saying because they don't understand my simple English they have to cancel the order..I only asked when will I receive ny invoice and bam they cancelled and said they do not speak English lol..oh well
-
Go with BIG Sal, so much easier and you can try them on.
-
Agreed..if anyone is in ny. Would be cool to meet up and head to big together so I can try on some sammies…pm me if anyone is down
-
DD, It's possible they will send a follow up mail in the next few days with a paypal invoice this time including the S&H costs, a lot of times Rakuten orders placed with a foreign CC get cancelled for whatever reason, beware that the mails they send are translated via translator software as no one at 2nd speaks any English … Or ignore all that and do what Finn and the others suggest
...
-
I've ordered the 2nd a few times, always used a simple online translator, and always got exactly what I asked for and with a marked down price on the customs label. Great shop to deal with, and they certainly get my recommendation.
-
Yeah of course. I also bought from 2ND and if you know how do deal with them, it's pretty perfect.
Still, let him buy from Gordon. Better for Gordon and better for Sal.
-
Yup, if I lived as close to SENY and BiG as Sal does, I would be a very poor boy
-
If I lived in NYC I would probably lay under some cardboard at the entrance of BiG with a sign that said "Please give me money for denim"… I would keep this dog as company:
How did I miss this? Fucking hilarious! I'll keep an eye out for you two in the next week or so as I have to head down there for a few things.

anyone selling blue in green gift cards? desperately looking…
-
finally got the indigo T I see.. how's the fit? measurements looked a little off to me.
Yup. Decided to roll with it. Number 3 of the Warehouse Pocket Tee collection. I must say that I love it. The color is great. I am sure it will only get better in time. The fit is a little snug, but not as snug as the Joe McCoy's Tees. Both still fit. The McCoy's are longe rin the body. Also, the Warehouse are a little beefier. Not by much but a little.
