Just Spent 45 Minutes doing a post in the Fishing thread. Maybe 50+ photos and descriptions. They were all deleted. FUCK! I will come back to that later….

I know too damn good what you're talking about mate…these moments suck big time, they piss you off and you really think if you should do it all over again or just leave it and come back another day!
I'd love to see'em though...so have a beer or two before the next try

its easy to find out what people want just put up a survey, i mean that's what this forum is right?
Surveys are notoriously unreliable. Lots of people will say, "yeah, I'll buy that", then when the product hits Gosport, they all disappear. Whether that's because they change their minds, because their eyes are bigger than their wallet, or something else, who knows?
Here is the perfect example.
For sometime I have been trying to work out how to make enough lof the larger (XXL and XXXL) sizes for the "larger"customers, I hate the fact that I don't make enough and end up disappointing people. So I created a mailing list for "large" people. A couple of months ago, I sent out a mail to them asking for them to indicate if they would be interested in getting either the upcoming white and/or green western shirts in an XXL and XXXL. I got 20 "yeses", so I made the shirts.
Early this week I emailed them and told them that the shirts were nearly ready and were they still interested? Only 2 people bothered to respond and they both said no.
Not sure why I bothered.

That sucks.
G, just keep doing what you do with current magic formulae. Some of us might be disappointed sometimes, but mostly it all works out so everyone gets most of what they want.
Don't fix what isn't broken, and a few disappointments now and then does not equal broken.
Spoken as a "larger" customer too

how does the above reference the rest of items produced for the standard size set (s-xl)? are less items produced since more plus sized items were made or was just more fabric developed to meet the anticipated demand?
2 responses out of 20 i would be a little pissed

I agree, it makes me love the pieces that I did manage to get in time even more and gives me some items to search for. Also, I am going to agree with Chris and say that when people say yes, they aren't thinking as much about the wallet, and when it comes time to buy, the wallet wins. I try not to ask for something unless I really will buy it.

Makes no difference. We still make the same number of XS-XL. The reason that XXL and XXXL are a "problem" is that very rarely does Haraki make them for the domestic market. So if I do not order enough I'm screwed, with XS-XL there is always a reasonable chance I can back fill…

So there's the easy solution- the Japanese simply grow bigger. Haraki can sell 2X and 3X sizes domestically, you don't get stuck with product that doesn't move fast enough; everybody wins.
I'm sure they'll get started on it immediately if we ask politely.

There's that world renowned Japanese rudeness again…

i'm sure when the IronHeart Japan set visit NY they will all go up at least on size & that might solve the problem with out any necesary action on our part. i have noticed & chuckled at the fact that most japan vendors of IH only go up to a size Large as it appears their domestic demand for XL & above isn't soooo wide.
get it, sooooo wide

Just got a reaction in the form of a gif of the Japanee PM when I told him about importing Belgian beers:
"Ooooooooohhhhhhhh Myyyyyyyyyyyyyy" - George Takei

With KFC, McDonald's, Burger King making strong in-roads in Japan and especially with the younger generation - they will get "bigger" real soon ::)
