anyone ever dealt with http://www.assistedknife.com/index.cfm ?
been thinking about getting a stiletto kit and a balisong kit -
@Jii:
Needed a bigger folder and decided to get this one, a Benchmade Griptilian 550 BKHG. Been reading a lot of good reviews on it. Seems to be a good guality/price piece.
like that a lot, got my eye on a doug ritter version which, if I get it, will probably have custom scales added at some point.

Hi Guys!
My fisrt dip into the world of folding pocket knives (swiss army knife notwithstanding), a Spyderco C148GP.After reading this thread I was instantly drawn to the small Chris Reeve Sebenza, but wanst sure if a knife was something i wanted to keep with me all day every day, and didnt want to gamble with that sort of money. Then once I got my Busters from Timmytangohead a few month back I thought i should try to make use of that cheeky little knife pocket. Anyway I have had the Spyderco with me every day ever since! A little bulky, but super solid (especially for a chinese made model) and very easy to keep quite sharp. And at just $50 I reckon its a nice item.
So, the Sebenza is still on the wish list, but for now im quite happy with the Spyderco.
Thanks guys for letting me share
Mike.

Nice knife there Mike, I have 3 Sypydercos but I'll be damned if I can remember the names of them! One is the
police model though, all 3 Japan made. Great knives. -
my current line up. Missing is a Benchmade knife that my apartment seems to have swallowed.
Spyderco Paramilitary (main carry. No nonsense, stout balde, easy to manipulate and comfortable to hold and use)
ProTech Tactical Response (this is more of an amusement piece for me. I do not carry it as its illegal, and only good for inflicting serious damage…)
Japanese blade from Ebay, not sure the name or style off the top of my head
ProTech Runt. Legal to carry in California because the blade is less than 2" (for an automatic, it must be less than 2") -
the Runt is a good knife. Its pretty thick, and the balde is really stout so it makes for a good tool. The fact that its automatic is a moot point. I can open folding knives just as fast if not faster than an automatic.

Received my Benchmade today. Here it is next to my Spydie Persistence:
Pros:
CRAZY sharp straight outta the box
Love the blade shape
Very easy to operate onehanded
LOVE the AXIS lock. Engages perfectly, you feel a nice reassuring click when it locks but it's not loud.
The clip seems to be very sturdy
Cons:
The handle feels subpar and plasticky. Would prefer OEM G10 scales. The knife isn't that big after all, might even be able to EDC it. It's a bit on the thick side thanks to the scales, I'll have a go at making a custom pair to slim it down. See how that'll work out
