Jewelry - Silver/Gold/Pendants/Rings/Bracelets
-
Had a friend back in college who made jewelry as a side business (art majors gotta do something, right?). He told me materials were only about 25% of his asking price for a final piece and that the margins got even better for "famous" designers. I suppose it's like high fashion- you pay for the name, not the material.

I've tried and tried but I am not a jewellery guy. At the end of the day, I fiddle with it too much and don't find it suits me. I've not had much, but dabbled in Starlingear, Steel Flame, and One Too Many.
Everyone knows spot on silver is around $30 an ounce, right? I'm with Injun on this one. Some of the silver goods prices are border line insulting.
FYI, this is my OPINION, so I don't want any crying over this comment.
Why are you buying $500 IH jeans when you can buy $40 wranglers at Walmart. Same situation.
Products made by a craftsman (or craftswoman) will always cost more than those made by an unskilled factory labourer.

Or why buy a Ferrari not a Ford? Made out of the same shit….

I'm not providing justification for anybody, thats their own prerogative. I was making a simple statement about voting with your wallet. Your opinions are your own
Not here to convince anyone of anything, just to enjoy the gear.
and Giles…Ford GT v Ferrari…. tough choices mate but what a good choice to have.

Would make sense- Clapton is an Iron Heart customer, wouldn't surprise me if Giles sold him some Flat Head gear, too.

Thats pretty cool! I've been a fan as long as I can remember. Not surprised as I've seen pictures of him with some cool rings from some of my favourite makers and hes a real WIS (watch idiot savant).
I wonder what IH gear he picked up?
