Interesting. The last couple of times I went through Newark, they barely batted an eye at our extensive collection of semi-prohibited items. Multiple bottles of formula, strollers, carseats, etc. went through with no issues. We could have had anything in there.

Actually, we've flown back from Newark once and you are correct, they could not be bothered to look at us either.
JFK is a whole different ball park, there you are guilty until proven innocent. Interesting post script to that is that since we had Tommy I have found that Airport security staff are much nicer to us everywhere else we have been (Singapore, Tokyo, Kyoto, UAE, Qatar, Germany, Spain), everywhere except JFK.

Too true

I found that once I started wearing a business suit on trips I stopped getting searched.

yea, those are awesome. Unfortunately, when we moved this last time, that was the only damn thing that got lost in transit. None of my wife's shoes or other excess bullshit failed to make it. Just my sharpmaker

I've got three good Japanese stones, I've watched tons of YouTube sharpening videos, and I'm still scared I'm going to feck them up.

Yeah, they should say, "hand crafted from blanks stamped 12 at a time." What impact does stamping the blanks have on long term quality? It would be cool if they had a "heritage" line that was all hand done, or better yet Damascus. I'm just such a sucker for that beautiful leather grip…

Stamping can cause stress fractures in the steel
Also, I'm not sure that high end steels can be stamped. Ka Bar uses cheap steel
Most high end knives are hand cut, laser or water jet cut
Bark River Knives makes nice stacked leather handles. I've heard there are issues with their warranty service though

I love this knife.
