IHW-05 - 32oz Melton Wool Pea Coat
-
Pics in my classic crap-o-rama not do justice to the beauty of this garment.
I'm a big fan, you know, from an early age I had a lot of pea coats, and I can swear that this is really one of the best I've ever had, if not the best.
No, maybe the best was the very first, the one I had when I was 13, but IHW-05 resembles it very much!
An extremely cool piece of garment. I'm already went down to the bar and civilians just start to envy…
You have to consider also that in a pea coat a little 'adjustment is necessary, a sort of break-in, as in leather jacket and denim. Wool must become softer in the elbows and neck and and take a sort of combs and so…

This jacket means business, thing is truly next level! The craftsmanship is just unreal, but would you expect anything less. I sure as shit did not and was certainly not let down. I could say something along the lines of I'll get better shots up here soon but I think we all know how that would turn out. So I will leave it with this, I love this jacket, and am extremely glad I purchased one. If your considering it, take the plunge, you will thank Lulu 20 years from now when it's still your favorite winter jacket. -
This baby just came in the mail for me and to be completely honest i did not think that it was going to blow me away as it did. It really is unreal. I feel like this jacket is going to stand the test of time and not only pass with flying colors, but also finish a bottle of liquor, go home, make a baby, and have enough time to come back and correct that test. Photos to come when i have a little more time likely later this week. Oh man, this is one purchase i will never regret!!!! :-

@SimonQ.:
so, the guys wearing xl/xxl - did you size up or took your normal shirt size?
I usually wear a XL in iron heart shirts and i went with a L in this jacket. enough space to wear a sweater underneath still.

I too have just picked this baby up and am very happy indeed.
Size wise,I wear XL in everything IH and went with the same for the Pea Coat.As Giles says, the sizing is a touch more relaxed than usual,so there's room for a layer….If i was looking for a more vintage fit,i probably could have even sized down to an L,but the shoulders are spot on and I'm very happy that i can fit a decent sweater underneath...it's a winter coat after all.
I've had a few peacoats and this one is very special indeed...i was looking for a new coat as my vintage one was getting a hammering and it's 53 years old now!! the search is officially over.
This one is exactly what i was looking for. -
I am pretty much always a xx and I went back and forth for a minute on weather or not to go to a xxx in this because I can't imagine not wearing a sweater or something of the like under it. I decided to go xx and feel like it was the right choice. I don't think sizing up is necessary with these. Mine feels exactly how I would want

Very jealous guys, it looks amazing.

I wear an XL in the IHW-02 (although I will wear a thin north face fleece under it whenever I wear it) and an XL in the IHW-01 (the original version). I sized down to an L in this, and I still have room for the north face under it

I tried it in a rainy day, but with a temperature of 54°F this coat is faaaaar too heavy, unless you take it with just a t-shirt!
IHW-05 is the perfect companion for a pair of 25oz' IH jeans. There is another detail to note: unlike other pea-coats, IHW-05 can be buttoned on both sides.
