So, I need a new bag, I'm looking at this: http://killspencer.com/device/macbook-pro-17/korean-war-era-business-messenger.html
Anyone got any suggestions for a similarly hardy messenger?

You're in Condor looking at Pistas and Mission Workshop stuff. Undoubtedly a Forumenger
Indeed, and given how wet it was on my evening commute on Friday, I'm now in real need of a waterproof rucksack, since my current one no longer is
Needs to be able to swallow a laptop, change of clothes and a pair of shoes, be comfortable, and totally waterproof. The shortlist at the moment is:-
- Kriega R35
- MissionWorkshop Rambler
Any other suggestions would be welcome

A goruck bag would fit the bill well, they have several sizes I'm sure one would work out well, great for carrying a laptop, ultra tough, I don't know I'd characterize them as completely waterproof but for all intents and purposes they are, unless you're gonna submerge them. I love mine and they're made by good people

I've got a Timbuk2, but recently switched back to a rucksack, and tbh I prefer it, more comfortable.

I've got one of Scott's early messenger bags (http://www.blackrainbowproject.co.uk/) and it's a fucking beast. I know he's attempting to ramp up production a bit now he's moved to new premises and I seem to remember him talking about a backpack.

Seventy Eight Percent do some very nice bags.

Has anyone in the UK bought a Goruck recently? Any hints for navigating the tax/handling charges which will hit? No problem paying for the bag but I have real beef with the ridiculous duty costs. (Yes I've already mailed Goruck themselves and they have no strategy they can offer…)

I can see a "Whats In Your Bag" thread, but no thread just for bags, so…...
I'm having one of these if I have to sell a kidney to get it.
Goruck - Radio Ruck

My new to me bag:
The IHE-01 has replaced my Goruck GR1 as my work bag. The GR1 while very nice is too big for my everyday needs.

Goruck - Radio Ruck
I've got the GR1 and my GF has the Echo. They're awesome. I'd like the Radio Ruck as well for one night trips, but I can't justify it really. I'll post pictures soon.

mega why don't you have one already?
goruck bags are great and they are made by great people which makes them all the better
check out gorucknews.com if you need a reason to buy one -
Honestly, I have no idea. This will be remedied very shortly I feel…....GR1 or Radio Ruck, hmmmmm :-\

Mega - I find the GR1 is perfect for two nights away for work, and a bit underused for one night trips. However, I'm not carrying a laptop these days, just my iPad.
Normal load out is two dress shirts, two t-shirts, wash bag, underwear, ipad in Portenzo case, Midori Traveler's Notebook, a book or two and a few other bits and bobs. Packed neatly, it all fits with some room to spare.
