GORUCK Challenge
-
Pam and I won't be able to do it guys. Financially and physically we could not manage 2 trips to the US and 2 Goruck challenges, and as I have to be at the HWDC event, sorry but we can't do it.

Jeff, for those of us that down own a Goruck piece, do we need to order one and if so, what size?
1 a goruck brand bag is not a requirement
2 the gr1 is the ideal bag for the challenge
3 if you buy an event pass they give you a discount on gear -

sounds like fun & a year to get ready for it gives almost anyone more than enough time. i have been meaning to sign up for one for the last couple of years, so i'm glad you are putting this together D-triple.
I'm all in.
oh & as motivation i'm pushing 40 fast & figure I want to do one of these as soon as possible before my mind is willing & my body isn't. i also love to set goals with tangiable rewards, just how I'm wired.
2014 can't get here soon enough

Jaco is just a smart dude (& one of my favorites), all the info is on the Goruck website.
–-no sarcasim implied or directed at anyone--
No, i don't want to re-live Paris Island (that sh!t was for the birds), but i'm old enough to know better & young enough to not give a f^ck & do stupid stuff . . . this seems pretty high on my list of stupid things to sign up for.
& 30 people isn't that easy to come up with, though i'm sure mega could organize & get it going . . .

This is a general rule of thumb, particularly the part about Jaco

You & D666 are two of my favorite big men on the forum. this is going to be fun.
Had to get in on this. I think I can fireman carry up to 275 or so . . . anything more & I will probably sh!t myself. Please keep in mind, someone will probably have to carry your big a$$ & I don't think you get to choose who carries you . . .

Ok so since we seem to have a good head of steam going into this thing, let's tap into the collective brain trust and put some real legs under this baby!
We've got some time but if your like me, probably just about the right amount
so why not use this thread to post some ideas of how we are all getting off our collective ass and getting ready for this thing. I get the impression they are not a cake walk boys and girls…
I started off today with the following...
4 sets of each 20 seconds on, 10 second rest. Alternating between the two exercises. Break for water if neededexaggerated lunges (one sided) Rx20seconds Lx20 seconds
Dive bomber pushupsGoblet squats with a KB
Dead lift with the same bellZ needed water
skater lunges (side to side)
Z needed more waterRussian twist
PlankStanding side crunches.
Takes a little less than 30 minutes including some type of warm up.
I will continue to post work outs and hope you all do to. If anybody has any questions (you've all done these exercises but might call them something different) pm me and I am happy to explain.
Do cardio!!!
