I like the color, but I don't like the style, I don't really love rough out and I hate that black ripple sole. But that color in a smooth leather service boot with a commando sole- niiiiice.

I know I'm gonna get flamed but, I just don't get viberg. IMO the price tag is not worth it. They are not 30% better than White's.

its not better jeff, its a preference
i really like the service boot cut and currently whites doesnt have anything that looks like that
also the last's that viberg makes i find more appealing
the sprung toe last is really a good looking last to me, and even thou whites have just released a sprung toe option, its not even close to looking like the viberg one
now if your buying a smoke jumper style boot i dont see a point in going viberg over whites unless they have a leather that gets you really hard
thats at least why i go with viberg over whites, and if you look threw this thread most peoples custom vibergs have been the service boot
and dont responde saying the semi dress is the same as a service boot the cut is totally differentalso i find all the whites last look basically the same to me

Not gonna get flamed by me. I tend to agree, and this comes from a guy who has two pairs of service boots that he loves. I have a pair of White's SD in the works, but until I get them, I can't do any direct comparison and make an informed choice. But yeah, from the pictures and the specs online, they seem pretty comparable in everything but price.
I think my Vibergs are soooo pretty, though…

Whether they are worth the extra $$ is hard to say, and up to each person to decide. No doubt they are very expensive. But they are also different from White's, most especially in boot shape and heel options. But also, I have found that I like the leathers offered by Viberg much better. I've had many samples sent by White's, and I just can't find ones that match the really nice leathers that Viberg has.
And the fact is that once you add on some options to your White's – lining, cap toe, CXL, etc. they get up near Viberg prices.
But no doubt, both are great boots.
In other news, I have a new pair of Viberg black horsehides that I will post pics of... as soon as i figure out how to post pics!
