Man Caves: Have One? Want one?

Any of you guys have a man cave in your house? My stepson is moving out this summer to live in Washington State, so Jody and I have been talking about turning his rec room into a man cave/gym

Any of you guys already have one or have plans for one?

When funds are available (probably in the Winter), I intend to

Lay down gym quality rubber matting wall to wall on the floor (is already concrete underneath)
Move all the kettlebells to the man cave/gym
Get a rack(s) to put them on
Get a Stroops Battleropes System
Install a Crosscore 180 System
Get a 46" flat screen TV and hang up on the wall, attach an Apple TV so I can stream from my laptop/iPad
Basic bluetooth speaker system (I'm not much of an audiophile, I tried, just doesn't matter to me)
Futon that can be moved around for when I'm working out vs watching tv
Small fridge for beer/food
Requisite Pamela Anderson poster
Bean bag chair (of course)
Giant dog bed for the giant dog
Bin on the door because no cell phones are allowed in the man cave

Debating on getting one of those weird punching bags that looks like a guy with his legs and arms cut off so I can practice Kali on it. I think I might be getting enough activity as it is

I'll probably set up a large gun safe down there and a small workbench to work on firearms/knives

It'll be spendy but I'm pretty sure I can do it at reasonable cost

So what do you guys have/want?

I'd go with a regular heavy bag over the dude things. Not a fan of them at all

I'm single, so my place is already eerily similar to what you've mocked up.

I really don't like them for regular punching/kicking/striking, but it works out for Kali because our knife work is very targeted

The angle on a punching bag is just no good for an upward stab to the side of the body or a throat stab/slash

Pretty similar setup for me, but my garage has a full size fridge, an antique (but still fully functional industrial sewing machine) and a rowing machine.  I'll skip on the heavy bag, dog bed and gun safe.

Of course, that's what's planned.  Right now it's still full of construction leftovers, broken furniture, boxes of crap to be sorted, etc.

10 years ago when Pam and I first bought our house, I was allowed a man cave. Then we had Tom and it was cruelly taken away in the name of a "childs bedroom" 

My man cave included…..

• My computer
• My comics
• Various vinyl figures of such luminaries as Freddy Krueger and Optimus Prime
• A desk
• A chair
• An ash tray.

These days I have been relocated a 1 square foot of table space in the kitchen, and all the rest of my stuff is in storage

A house, flat, etc. for us is just a place to keep our stuff, and sleep. Life happens "out there". A man cave would be counter to our preference, and philosophy of participating in the polis.
