Despite the word "North" in the name, being from North Carolina really, really doesn't make me a Yankee.

anyone heard or used the http://www.tombihn.com/PROD/TB0103.html looks maybe to be a better day pack as it is top loading?
I used to have a Tom Bihn Brain Bag for carting a big laptop around. They're solidly made, and I never had any problems with mine. A friend inherited it because I got a Hard Graft one.

While Chris may not be a geographic Yankee, I detected certain "snooty" traits of a blue coat about him. He is the Souths Benedict Arnold.

One if the best design things about the Goruck, I think, is the zip around opening, suitcase style. You can pack much more in it than a top loader.
On the RR vs. GR1 front, the easy answer is plan on getting both!

Ha ha. Cheers I will make plans for the gr1.

It might be fair to point out that you are buying your girlfriend the most macho, testosterone infused backpack ever made here. Check out their new "slick" range for something slightly less mil spec.
-
Got my GF the Echo when I bought the GR1. She loves it, uses it as her everyday work bag.

She will love it! If not I know a good bloke selling an orange backpack for a good price!
I think the gr1 will suit us best as a day bag, work bag, travel bag. Be sweet for camping, fishing and 4x4. And having the webbing on the outside will be good for water bottles, tripods and so on.

I really dig the look of the slick range. Had I known they were coming out, I would've waited before picking up my GR1.
As it stands love the bag tough. Great bag for for hauling my computer, books, and all that jazz every day…

order placed! gr1 coming!

Good choice (for you ;))

seeing as we are all insane about our bags, we should all share photo's of our bags. I will start. Im waering mine sloppy in the pic because I was very wet, as it was raining all morning and I was ill prepared for the machu picchu climate. Mystery Ranch 3 day assault pac.

I love mystery ranch. I have a 15 year old Dana Designs that I absolutely love.
-
One of my buddies just got a Mystery Ranch bag. I'm gonna check it out this weekend. He said it was pretty amazing.

Most of my good packs are day bags but I have some Osprey, Kifaru, TAD Gear, Duluth, and some others I need to dig out of my box o gear.
