To clear up a little confusion.
I commisioned these, they are being made exclsively for me and my retailers. Some of my retailers will stock them (Self Edge, Kentaurus and DC4).
They will only be sold at these 3 stores and the ironheart.co.uk store.

Looking good, Giles! I really like how these turned out!

Hmmm, not sure about the OD compared to the superblack but suppose I'm stuck as I'm SO not down with zippers. I'm just getting my 634S's looking beat up after about 2 years (only washed em twice, I know, yuck!) and not sure about the black to blue thing. Do they fade out fast? Oh by the way, Giles, thanks for the fit pic on the new tee, I am now thoroughly pissed! Once again, I hate the royal mail!!

Beatle, will do, gave em a wash yesterday and waiting on them drying. (If it ever stops raining!) Got my 2010 shirts today so that'll work for the pic's

Good news.

If i grab a pair of 634S and 634S-B they both fit the same (from page 14 in this thread)… with that in mind, if i have a 30" waist, should i get TTS? Or size down one to account for stretch?
And ... as for the overdye, how would that affect giving them an initial soak? Would that kill the overdye on the jeans making them appear to be a normal 634S? Do they fade to regular indigo overtime or stay very dark?
-
From what I understand, the dye is a 'fugitive pigment' which will fade more rapidly than indigo, but how much more is still a matter of experience and opinion. If your TTS waist is 30" I'd order these TTS if you plan to wear them even a little lower.
As for soaking. I soak everything, as I'm not a huge fan of starch. I like 'em more cripsy and less gummy, if that makes sense and don't suspect one good hot/warm/cold soak is going to create much dye loss. Giles has already commented on what a flawless job Haraki did when it came to refining the OD process and said there will be virtually no shrink to speak of, so I'm not expecting any. They fade from black, to indigo and lighter therefrom.
-
So eventually you will have what appears to just be two pairs of 634S? haha
I guess it will take the overdye version longer to fade to the point of the 634S though so they wont look the exact same?
-
No, I wouldn't say they'll look exactly the same High abraision areas will develope high contrast fading, but instead of indigo to white, it'll progress from black, to indigo, to white. The black, low abraision areas will stay black, for the most part, until washing takes it's toll on even those areas.
The overdye threads around the various denim forums are very referents for what worn OD denim looks like. The fading is quite mind blowing. Because of this, I have been chomping at the bit, salivating like a hyena at the butchers, and generally waiting in anticipation.
