New Flat Head Shirts, Tees, and Jean & Accessory Restocks
From our favorite Japanese rockabilly rousers we've got a fresh delivery of shirts, tees, wallets, rings, jeans, horsehide jackets, and more.
By now we're sure you've seen the awesome t-shirt/sticker packs that we released with Florian Bertmer.
We've got a lot more from Flat Head to add to the mix.First up we've received an indigo dyed shirt which has been discharge dyed with a paisley design, this shirt will fade and age over time just like a pair of jeans. We're sure this one is going to go quickly.
Next up is the Flat Head "Glory Park" Kasuri 5-D Acid Trip Short Sleeve. What is happening with the weave pattern of this shirt? We haven't seen a reproduction of the late 50's jacquard or dobby style shirt this crazy, ever.
Flat Head has become known for their Native Check fabrics over the past year or two, woven super slowly, lots of detail, and soft to the touch. They've now done this fabric in a short sleeve shirt and in a color we've never seen before.
We've also received a new "Glory Park" loopwheeled t-shirt with a nice "Speed Shop" design in discharged print. Go faster by wearing this tee.
Along with all these new items we've received a full restock of all Flat Head wallets, rings, bracelets, jeans, blank gray t-shirts, horsehide jackets, Wild Child wallet chains, and more. Everything is available now in-store and online.

Woah, instacop. That Glory park SS is the best looking shirt I've seen in a while. I've really loved the RJB dobby argyle and I think this will be right up there!

Got one on the way. But it's a sawtooth snap shirt. Cos that's what Waylon woulda did
Also copped that impeccable discharged race car shirt.

3sixteen 30BSP, Shadow Selvedge, Double Black, & More
We've just received the long awaited restock of all 3sixteen's jeans including the 30BSP 3sixteen+ jean and all three fits of women's jeans.
First up we have a restock of the 30BSP Straight Tapered jean. Made of a hefty 15.5oz sanforized pure indigo dyed Japanese denim woven by Japan's Kuroki Mill and cut and sewn in America.
We get a near daily request for a fit that has room in the upper block but is fairly tapered below the knee. This jean is a combination of a straight leg jean and a tapered jean for the guy that wants (or needs) room in the upper block but also wants a small leg opening. The jean comes complete with hidden rivets, coin pocket selvedge, and the most mystical leather patch to have graced a product at our store. We've also received a restock of the Shadow Selvedge denim from 3sixteen with an indigo warp and black weft. The denim was developed by 3sixteen and custom woven by Japan's Kuroki Mill. The Shadow Selvedge jean comes in both 3sixteen's signature straight and slim tapered fits. This denim will age over time with a super high contrast fade due to the fact that the jean starts dark yet the blue warp threads are rope dyed with indigo.
Next up we've got the Double Black denim jean, a black denim which has a black warp and weft for a very dark black look. This jean is stitched together with black thread and comes with a black dyed leather patch. The Double Black jeans are also available in both straight and slim tapered fits.
For women we've got a restock of 3sixteen+ jeans made of a great pure indigo dyed stretch selvedge denim woven by Cone's White Oak plant. The denim is made of American Supima cotton which is shipped to North Carolina to be spun into yarn then woven into denim by Cone Mills. These 3sixteen+ jeans for women come in a skinny fit, a straight slim fit, and a bootcut fit. All the jeans have a zipper fly and an embossed New York Dolls themed leather patch design.
Along with all these jeans we've received a full restock of all 3sixteen heavy leather belts and bracelets.

Self Edge x Dry Bones Natural Indigo Hank-Dyed Jeans = SEXDB19
After seven years and nearly twenty collaborations we've finally put ourselves up to the task of doing a jean made of a fabric so difficult and so expensive to produce that we could truly say it was a labor of love and passion.
Self Edge and Dry Bones have come together to produce a jean made of 100% natural indigo dyed yarns which were hank-dyed to produce a very deep indigo shade which cannot be replicated using modern dying methods and synthetic dyes. There are a small handful of natural indigo dying masters left in Japan and to say that they work slowly is an understatement. Massive care is taken when preparing the natural indigo dye bath and then the dying the skeins of yarn. Once the yarn is dyed it is then woven into denim on a wooden (but machine powered) loom yielding an extremely uneven texture which brings out the great deep indigo shade hidden within the fabric.
The fabric is then cut and sewn into a straight leg jean with a little taper down past the knee and finished with hidden rivets, indigo dyed cotton twill pocket bags, olive military-grade canvas rear pocket linings, and a cowhide patch.
Due to difficulty of producing this fabric and the costs associated with the production these jeans are limited to only 95 pairs.
Josh Harris is off this week running the Pig and Punch event in New Orleans, in place we have Eugene Terrible from SESF modeling the jeans. The SEXDB19 jean will be available at all Self Edge stores on Saturday, July 27 at noon (local time) and at 10am (PDT) the same day in our online store.

Strike Gold Left Hand Twill Jeans, Loopwheeled T-Shirts, & More
This was definitely a first… we received a jean that sold so quickly in-store that we had no stock left to put into our online store and had to wait until the second batch to officially announce the jean online. This jean is Strike Gold's 17oz unsanforized left hand twill denim jean with gray dyed weft yarns.
We've finally received a full stock of both the straight (model 3105) and slim tapered (model 3109) versions and have enough to fill the online store with. This denim is beautiful and has a medium blue shade and is slightly hairy, we've seen some that have aged since we got them initially four months ago and they look quite good.
We've also received a new loopwheeled t-shirt in two colors with a vintage style flock print to give the print an upraised almost velour feel on the fabric.
Along with these new items all stores have received a full restock of all other Strike Gold jean models and belts in both tan and black.

I love my 3105s Kiya, thanks for the help. Was well worth the wait.
The shirts are also amazing, but folks be sure to check the measurements. I usually do M tees but a L in SG is a tight fit for me. The material is terrific, lots of horizontal loopwheel texture evident out of the box. Silk screened designs will show this texture very evidently.

Self Edge Portland - Opening August 3rd
Self Edge opened seven years ago in the Mission District of San Francisco with the vision of creating an otaku retail store dedicated to vintage style denim and other clothing produced by the Japanese. A place to find all the brands that many have spent years reading about in Japanese magazines and across countless online forums and blogs. It has a been a seriously wild ride since we opened our first set of doors in 2006, we had no intention of having multiple stores at the time. Over time we realized that what we were doing was different enough and that we had enough fans across the country that we could expand beyond San Francisco.
Four years ago we opened our second store in New York City, it's been an amazing four years with the number of new friends we've made thousands of miles away from where we started; we're excited for the years to come with what we have planned for the future.
Three years ago our largest store opened, this one in sunny Los Angeles located in an area with some of the best stores in the country. Locals, visitors, and retailers welcomed us into their neighborhood and we've had a great three years in LA. We have some great plans for some pop-ups at SELA from some of the brands we carry over the next year, with all the room there we can really showcase a brand's complete line-up.
After seven adventurous years between San Francisco, Japan, New York, and Los Angeles we're proud to announce our expansion to Portland, Oregon.
Earlier this year we went to Portland to visit the crew behind Tanner Goods, after spending some time there we realized there were was quite a large Self Edge fan-base already there. We saw that what we do translates well to what locals in Portland look for in clothing and accessories (or anything, for that matter); quality and an attention to detail are at the top of the list when shopping or eating in this town. Opening in Portland has been more about the surroundings of a retail store and the fact that we've fallen in love with the city itself.
We're opening on August 3rd in a new retail project named Union Way which links Ace Hotel and Powell's Books, two of the biggest destinations for out-of-towners. We've got some great neighbors at Union Way (Danner, Steven Alan, Quin Candy, Spruce Apothecary (Canoe), and Boxer Ramen) and we're looking forward to making new friends in Portland. At Self Edge Portland we'll be offering all of the same brands as our other stores with an emphasis on outerwear in the winter months. SEPDX will also offer chainstitch hemming services on our vintage Union Special Chainstitching machine free of charge on all jeans purchased from us and for $25 for all pre-owned jeans. We'll also offer our full repair services for a flat fee on our vintage darning machine.
Self Edge Portland will be opening on August 3rd with an opening party to follow on August 10th from 6pm to 10pm (more info to follow). New unreleased pieces and restocks of popular items from many of our brands will be available when we open.
Stop by and see what a real pair of jeans feels like.Self Edge Portland

The Roy Indigo Slub-Striple "Portland" Shirt
Roy's been hiding away in his studio for the past four months working on honing his shirt making skills. His first shirt release, which sold out in minutes, was a simple chambray shirt with some fun detailing. With this next shirt he's taken his production techniques and stepped them up a few notches all while using a fabric thats rarely seen outside of Japan. Roy has expressed that he's never spent this much time on each garment as he did with this run of shirts due to some of the complicated detailing.
The fabric on the "Portland" shirt is an American cotton lightly slub-striped selvedge textile from Japan's Rampuya mill thats been sanforized. The shirt features deadstock depression-era milky glass buttons, chainstitch run-off, selvedge accented gusseted sideseams, chainstitch embroidered hidden "Roy", 3-needle felling, and extra buttons in a hidden cyanide pill-pocket at the bottom tip of the placket, because as Roy says, "They'll never take you alive".
This shirt will go on sale at noon (local time) at all four Self Edge stores on Saturday, August 3rd, and will be available online at 10am (PDT) the same day.

+1 Sean… that cyanide pill pocket will come in handy ... I'll have to fight off a hangover tomorrow morning and cop one
