John Lofgren (Speedway)
-
Welp, I decided to go for the Lofgrens in black… only one pair in (what I hope is) my size left, I figured I better get them while I can. Now comes the misery of waiting.
Wow, I forsee much boot porn when they arrive :). I'd suggest creating a dedicated thread for them so we can all admire their beauty. May they ship swiftly and fit perfectly :).
Thank you my brother, I will be suffering lightly until they arrive and hoping they fit, obviously. I am guessing I could move them to a loving home if they don't, and that makes it easier to bear the wait.
-
Thanks SF, of course I will share pics, and if they don't fit, someone will get a bargain on some killers!
-
Did you go tts?
FH and Rafa and anyone else needing sizing info:
Man, I totally spaced this until Tat asked me a question and I re-read an email from John, but in regards to sizing he said that you can basically follow a Brannock device in US sizes on these boots.
Still, email him and ask if you want to make sure, as mentioned he provided outsole length and width at the ball of the foot too.
That's weird, I remember thinking that Vintage Engineer Boots sized down on his. Hmmm…
Yeah, I reread his review a minute ago and VEB said he's usually an 8 but went with a 7 on these.
-
Someone just ordered the last black size 11,5 @ Speedway shop so I guess I'll have to wait for the next run, bummer…
-
Sorry mate. That was me. :-\ Not sure what size you normally go for but I'm usually a 13 or sometimes a 12 but these measured exactly the same as my pairs that fit at 13" wall to toe and 4 3/8" wide. If they don't work out for me I'd be happy to work something out with you if your interested.
-
Hope they work out for you, if not let me know
-
Absolutely, you'll have first dibs if they don't.

what's your size in your latest Viberg Boots mate?…
-
He's doing another run
-
Sorry mate. That was me.
Haaa, couldn't resist eh brotha? Well-played my man. It may be a while, they haven't ordered the next run yet. The sooner they get rid of the rest of their inventory, the sooner the next run goes, sounds like. So get em while they're hot!
-
I agree MCL as I stated I had been in contact with John about badalassi pair since may and he recently told me that they decided to go ahead with their workboot but were still waiting for lower inventory on engineers so could be another few months
-
I asked if they;re doing more baldalassi cognac, as those will be mandatory if so, no word back yet.
-
Truth told lofgrens are my grail… As much as I love the RCs deoendingbon hiw these fit I may put the RCs up with the fresh resole if another production run starts and I'm able to get a badalassi or brown.... I just really have preference for the 50s style... Especially johns iteration of it.
That said we should probably strt a lofgren thread so we don't derail this too much and irritate anyone.
-
It seems that John Lofgren name has been popping up quite a bit so I've created a thread to help us herald this great japan based repro company who makes exceptionally researched and produced repro workwear and what many consder the finest repro engineer boot on the market today, I look forward to seeing everyone share and admire his line as much as I do
Pics to be added a soon as I get to my PC and off mobile
-
Ha we both did that at the same time, I've asked the mods to delete mine, here's what I was saying over there in the duplicate thread:

I love my RCs too and will keep them, but I think Lofgrens are as pretty as boots come. I had been looking at Lone Wolf, McCoys (Buco and Chippewa), those custom Wescos you grabbed, and others for my black engineers and I just couldn't stop looking at the Lofgrens longingly. Should have pulled the trigger sooner, these have been the apple of my eye for some time…
-
Agreed, I like the wescos for the black fire leather and think they might be a bit more rugged than the lofgrens so my thinking was that they will serve a great looking purpose in the winter and bad weather as well as allowing be to keep one boot a solid black for a more "dress" look I suppose. I can't wait to get my lofgrens looking like VEB's.

If you wouldn't kind snowy that would be great!
