Alright this question might seem silly but….how do the road champs feel on feet? Keep in mind I literally only have experience with vans and I've never even tried on a boot. I'm wondering if they're going to be annoyingly heavy/bulky walking around...
-
Thanks Sean;
Ben, I'm not the best person to ask (if in fact you're asking me), as these have been Takeshied. They are 10D and the resole took them to 9.5D (the uppers are double stitch down) and the soles are probably 1/3 thicker than stock. So the foot feel is way different I bet. They do feel heavy on the foot, but I like that. I'm a boot guy through and through.
Tat and davito and possibly others could answer how the stock feel, but all I can say about nerkg's/mine are that they are AMAZEBALLS.
Leather can't be beaten, very supple. These boots feel better than any others I own, though the Vibergs aren't even close to broken in and the Lofgren are close.
Can't recommend them enough. If you have the time and patience, including the Hukurokuju treatment ($400 and time/trouble being the cost there). I will likely be adding a tighter hole on the ankle strap. I max it out and it could go one more notch. Christophe did that to his.

Thank you for the thorough answer…. Kind of just thinking aloud. I think when I eventually buy a pair or boots rc's will be the first.

There's a 10 on the bay.
Just added a hole to my ankle straps.

Ben some like wearing engineer styled boots some dont. Road champ is a great output from mf and so far the only MF product rerunned but you never know. I began with the viberg x VMC vintage toe style and since then almost only wear engineers. They treat my feet well and i love the walking groove in them. The champ is soft and mold to your feet pretty quickly, make sure you size right because of the low toe design. It runs big so half to full size down from ur usual tts. I went down half and it give some space to break it in nice without having my toes touching the front. I am wearing a us8 could have taken 7.5 but VMC didnt take half sizes and i want it comfy.
Today in faro waistcoat, reno dot calico and faro britches

Great fit pics! You wear MF stuff well
I think you might be a little off on the RC being the only rerun….They reran the Liberty CPO back in the day because of popular demand...as well as slightly modifying the deck jacket and the P-Coat....and I believe even the ranch blouse and the Californian blue jeans have been reran....
anyway....its funny to watch the topics discussed here vs denimbro....the road champs are king here....nobody even mentions whats going on on ebay....unless its road champs of course!

No one drums up Mister Freedom lust like David, you wear it so well. About all I can afford unfortunately is their tees!

Hello Gentlemen and thx for the cool photos and discussions
The RC's took so long to put together that i would like to keep them as part of the MF catalog. Really wish i could reduce the wait list so that no one thinks of it as a built-up hype, but the main issue is getting good batches of leather. I have no control over what cows are fed, and that has a real impact on the yield of the hides we get from Horween. At times, only one pair comes out of an entire hide… and it takes about 6 months to get another leather batch.
And to make things even more fun, we added the "Trooper" to the load Your guess as to when the first batch of these is coming out is as good as mine...
Cheers -
Wow, Mister Freedom, nothing more to add but keep up the good work!
-
Thanks for the info C, that's insane that you can get so few boots from a hide…. The wait time makes more sense now. I am glad to here that I have until the foreseeable future to pick them up though
And also thanks for the replies David and McLain. When I'm nearing actually picking them up I think ill just stop by Mister Freedom and try them on and decide there.

wise move bud.

The Trooper is badass, been admiring the prototype on Christophe's feet.
-
Great… Now I've got to go searching for the "Trooper". Thought I was up to speed on things

This, added as we all know he's a great guy and very happy to share information. Much love to your looks, style, and attitude as always davito!

Hello Gentlemen and thx for the cool photos and discussions
Welcome! Look forward to seeing and hearing more from you with time. Thanks for joining our small patch of the internets.
And great to hear the RC's aren't going anywhere.
I have no control over what cows are fed
True that!
@Ben, depending how detailed Christophe's dig through this forum was/is you just got busted on the no-photo policy :P. I'm glad to see some picture from inside there. It's one of the few global meccas to me. Please do keep trying stuff on IRL, makes me feel good knowing someone I know is going there in person :).

Haha when I go in there I will definitely have a tough time not taking fit pictures….I have a feeling that the "no pics" policy is more for those that may be trying to get "inspiration" for their own lines rather than for an 18 year-old who likes taking fit pics for the Internet
