Random Rants

Every time it rains in Houston, traffic lights fail. I swear, I do not understand how this city cannot seem to make outdoor equipment water resistant.
On the plus side, it happens so regularly that Houston drivers, while generally terrible, handle an intersection with a flashing red light in textbook competency. Really, it could be a driver's education video.

EBay have just sent me an email about items I might like… All well and good perhaps, but the "item you're still looking for" happens to be one I have listed for sale! Not a copy of the item listed by another seller (which might sort of make sense), but my item!!
Why EBay??? Why do you do these things?
"Still want to keep this item you've listed for sale?"
No, that's why I listed it in the first place...
"All you have to do is bid against someone who does want to buy it".
goes to find a brick wall to bang head against

exams all day today rendered me without opportunity to duck out and make my lunch; therefore I ate assorted crap (peanut butter cup, granola bar, potato chips…. not good at all, I have touched none of these items in over a year and normally consume a very low amount of empty carbs a day) from a vending machine, and now I feel exactly as I anticipated I would. Terrible, stomach ache, headache, and horrible.

Try squeezing it.. See if you csn make some lemonade.
No seriously though, that's no good, sorry to hear that raf -
At least it's still under warranty…

I've read that with LCD TVs, major failures usually occur either immediately or not at all (which is why extended warranties are a waste of money). Looks like you got the crappier of the two possibilities.
-
I think that makes sense based in my experience.

mine is/was a LED though…not sure if they act the same but i have a 2 year warranty on it so all should be ok!
i'm thinking about buying something better/bigger now though...50" are good, but (as you'mericans say) "the bigger the better" right -
I would have gone with a Sharp Aquos. They are the only manufacturer that doesn't outsource it's parts are manufactured and assembled in the state of the art, highly efficient Kameyama Plant. I have owned many LCD and now LED's from SHARP and they have never let me down.
-
It's still an LCD screen- LED is the type of backlight it uses. Older LCDs used fluorescent lights, but LEDs are thinner and are now standard.
Just get a plasma TV from Panasonic and never have to worry about all those complicated acronyms.

I totally agree with D666's statement. I was always a samsung guy, and my college buddy that's the General Manager talked me into a less expensive Sharp that is an incredible TV. it's 70 inches of pure bliss. If you're gonna be a bear, be a grizzly.

Migraine is arriving…....ugh
-
I took some Aleve as my migraines are more than likely autoimmune related (long story, awaiting diagnosis). The pain has gone but left behind a weird vision thing in my left eye.
