The hiker discussion has moved from a discussion to reality here….

Did someone in here once say they had a pair sent back to Viberg to be shrunk? I ask because it's looking like I'm going to lose $400-$450 on my Oxfords–which is so bad it's comical--and I'd like to know if, for a proper fee, I can just get them altered to fit. Any help would be appreciated.

It should be possible for them to be re-lasted. Basically, they take the sole off, put the smaller size last in the boots, trim it down, then reattach the soles. I've had it done before, though not by Viberg. Should cost around $150, but that's a very rough estimate.

@tod:
Speaking of horsehides, I've decided to sell this pair of nearly new black HH service boots, Viberg size 10, on the 310 last:

I couldn't resist!

Too big!! And I'm not talking about my Johnson!!

how's the feeling when wearing though?
how's the width and all?from this pic i'd say size down 0.5 on your next boot (depends on the last used as well though!)…
The width and everything else is ok Rafa. But it could be tad slimmer. They are super comfy to wear. No stress points at all. But I think I would like them a tad firmer.
I'm looking at the same 2045 last again but 9. I think this is definitely .5 size to big. Sheish!! Chasing the perfect boot fit!! Yet another path!

Buying boots on the internet is not for those who want instant gratification. It's a long and expensive journey that ends up with boot nirvana, with often many misteps along the way. It's the joy of the chase to reach that point, and each step along the way is a step closer. (Meant in both literal/pun senses, as well as metaphorical sense of life philosophy)
