LOVE THESE BOOTS!!
Sorry for yelling…

Guys honestly sorry for such a newb question but I really don't know anything about suede.
With proper care will it really last as long as "regular" leather? (I know it's all leather- I don't know terminology).I assume these Vibergs are top notch quality skins, but still, what's the deal? Wear them in all elements just the same? I understand suede to be more porous that's why I ask.

Suede is a split skin, these are roughout, where the flesh side of the skin is on the outside. So it's thicker.
I lightly sprayed Obenauf's silicone water resistance spray on mine and did nothing else. I brush them periodically. You can "dub" them with wax or some other leather protector but it will affect the look.
A lot of forum members think you should just leave roughout alone and just brush it.

Cool thanks for te advice guys. I'm really leaning towards these. Only thing stopping me is the heavy duty sole. I can always change that in the future once they wear out

I loves mine. Wearing them today. Dubbing would look cool, it flattens the nap and darkens the shade. I love them as is but may do it one day.

I've always thought the smokejumper/logger boot style was way too much on the sole, but they are starting to grow on me….I might even go check out a pair of red wing loggers next week to see how the sillouette works on someone who's already 6 foot 4...

I tried it, but they were too wide for my tastes (though it depends on what shirt I'm wearing).
Or did you mean just double cuff and pull them down over the boot? (I sort of dig the high cuff thing
I probz should just hem one of these days.

SO I'm waiting for the mailman to deliver my newly re-soled IHVB-03. I decided to have the commandos taken off and had VIberg put on flat dainite soles. Now I know this goes against the concept or something, but I just couldn't get into the technical look. Plus I didn't like walking around with those big lugs on the bottom. I'm hoping that I have "refined" them a bit, made them look more like something James Bond would wear hunting in 1962.
Pics to follow shortly…
