Red Wing Shoes

Just got a pair of icecutters through a trade. Thumbs waaaaay up. Super comfortable, wool lined, waterproof, and come with a removable insole. The price point is high for these so I can't say if I think they're worth the money yet, I need to abuse them for a bit.

I don't know if I'm crazy or not but the soles on the ice cutters seem to be a softer more cushioned rubber than other vibram lugs I've had. This makes them super comfortable right out of the box due to the wool removable footbed. In all seriousness these are the most comfortable red wings I've ever owned.

Red Wings 8138 after around 18months. In terms of construction no comparison to my new White`s - still like them a lot. They are due for a sole repair, does any of you guys know who does it Germany? I guess the retailers in Berlin/Hamburg and Frankfurt offer it only for their customers (bought mine in NY).
Currently talking to a Cologne based cobbler if he can get a Vibram Christy sole.

put the ice cutters to the test today. 10 inches of snow, 3 vehicles plowed in, ice dams on the roof….. been out shoveling knee deep snow for the past 4 hours. feet are warm and dry still. these get a big thumbs up. great boots.

I haven't posted pcitures of these for over a year I think…I own them for three years now, but they only get worn when I'm outdoors.

My red wing iron rangers. Still going hard after two years regular use. Seen many a drunken jaunt including a recent trip to Camden that saw them get repeatedly covered in rum and Jaegermeister!!!!!!
