The Flat Head
-
Here is a pic of my paisley. I had given up on Flat Head shirts a few years ago since the shoulders on the size 42 were always too big and the stomach of size 40 was too tight. The Flat Head houndstooth still remains one of my favorite patterns and I really do wish that shirt fit me. I was in Self Edge a few weeks ago and tried on a size 40 paisley. The fit shocked me!
Material
There are alternate rows of white polka dots and paisley. The paisley consists of shapes that resemble teardrops and flowers with 4 petals. The weight seems similar to my IHSH-26 and a bit thinner than my IHSH-21.Fit
The shoulders, chest, sleeves, and length are all perfect. My only improvement would be to make the sleeves a bit narrower. Note that the shoulder measurement on the Self Edge website is a bit larger than reality. We measured the shoulders again in the store and determined them to be slightly less than 18in.Details
The amazing details include white cat eye buttons, selvedge gussets, a selvedge placket, chain stitched seams, and "Flat Head and Co" written in white on the inside of the placket.Summary
One of the main reasons I became such an Iron Heart fan is because the shirts fit me so well. I'm glad that Flat Head has realized that not everyone has huge shoulders. I'm glad that I can finally wear one of their shirts. I really like their patterns and designs and it would be great if I could fit into their future shirts as well. -
Nice fit! And for what it's worth when I tried on the paisley it didn't seem to fit me any differently than any of flat head's other shirts….
-
Great looking shirt, can't go wrong with that paisley pattern!
-
Love the shirt twin
-
His is the sawtooth western variant though. Which I have and treasure.
-
Yep, the western version has some taper, the other version doesn't. The normal shirt would be a great fit for you if you could find one in your size.
-
Heh, I like that that's the normal one since I almost exclusively wear what must be "abnormal" shirts
-
That's right Finn - I dunno, the paisley shirt doesn't feel much like a work shirt to me, it's a combination of the fabric and the lack of collar/cuff canvas on most of the real FH work ones.

Wow, that shirt is old school. Looks great!
