I must admit. I'm slowly getting sucked into the engineer boot love club.. Some freaking great boots!! I'm blame Snowly whole heartily for showing me some links!! Dam you Wade!!

Yeah mate. actually I was going to ask you for some evolving pics?

@Scotty, My RoadChamps will be in the MF Thread soon after this Viberg porn is inserted below.
I wear these 1-2x a week, every week since April last year. I'd say they are still on their way to opening up. I don't baby these at all, but do give a regular brush down if they get smashed. 1 initial coat of LP, and 1 touch up of Mink Oil after they looked seriously dried out. I can (and do) wear all day with thin/thick socks and have never had a blister from these. Considering how 'beast mode' they are, I continue to be impressed about/by that.

Oh! They are like a scotch grain. Nice. You know, that style of boot reminds me of the issue US jungle boot I wore a lot in the early 90s and then the all black version became regular issue in the unit. Had a real chunky almost no by motorbike tire tread on them. Great in the mud. Really works well when spending weeks stomping your ass around the jungle for weeks on end humping another mans weight in your back pack.

Gulp… $910 +$25 S&H for U.S. delivery. http://viberg.com/collections/footwear/products/engineer-black-horsehide It's the 2005 last, soft toe. Sizing for me is Red Wings minus 1.0 or White's minus .5 (i.e. I wear White's 12.5 US, these are 12 UK) - fit is perfect. I am very happy with these boots, so impressed.

Bluegrass!! Mate, so jealous!! I picked up the service boots in the same leather. But darn I wanted those too!! Hahaa! Great score mate!!

Thanks man, I like those service boots too, but I'd been hunting for the perfect pair of black engineers. Wore these all day today - really nice/comfortable in the footbed, but tops of shaft are rubbing the back of my calves - I'll have to get some 1970s tube socks! These will be tough to break in, but it will be worth it. I was comparing these to my Road Champs side by side, and the RCs looked like baby shoes. Much thinner, softer leather. These are serious boots.
