Where does everyone live?

Hello Andy,
As a guy who spent years in south Florida, those are going to be a challenge. Not impossible, but the adjustment might kill you.
Congrats and welcome
thank you. From my experience it's at least possible to wear heavier denim from October to March (at night).

I'm actually part time in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Many commisserations…
No reason!!! Actually I like it there much better than here. Lots of good friends, nice weather all year long, good job opportunities. To be honest, I'm pretty much done with Germany… Can't wait to leave. Ok, the expectation to turn my long distance relationship into something better is a huge factor. Guess I would go anywhere only to finally live with my beloved one (ok, wrong, I wouldn't go some place without a certain level of hygiene and comfort) But for me Florida is much, much better than most other places.

It's possible to wear them at 3 in the afternoon in the midst of August, it's the adjustment period and the need to wash the sweat from them that's difficult. I wore long sleeve shirts to work outside in the middle of summer, after a couple weeks your body adjusts and you actually feel cooler keeping the sun off your skin.

Correct. I spent so much time in South FL, from a few weeks up to almost half a year. After, let's say, 3 weeks you no longer feel the heat and humidity. The first time I came there (about 1985) I thought I could do nothing more than spend time in air conditioned places. Today I play tennis at noon
I even sported 15 oz Momotaros and RW boots… in November, at night. But my goto garment from April to October will still be shorts and t-shirt Too bad I will have to work there, so it's gonna be appropriate clothes ... at least sometimes
Anyway, I prefer this kind of climate any day over our 8 month long German winter...

Hi Guys. I'm Michael and I live in Gypsum, CO. Originally from Rhode Island I've been in CO for nearly 15 years.
I've been into jeans my whole life, but never really knew anything until a coupe of years ago. I started hearing/seeing selvedge denim pop up, knew nothing about it. Doing some research cleared that up right away, and introduced me to Japan denim.
I've bought/sold and donated so many pairs of cheap Levi's I can even remember. Now I'm starting a decent collection of selvedge. My first pairs were Raleigh, Imogene + Willie, and Civilianaire. All great. Now I've got 3 IH - SEXIH13 634S 23 oz, 634s, and 9634Z and a pair of Strike Gold SG2105. The SEXIH13 don't see much wear as at 33 they are too small - they didn't give much at all and I can hardly move in them. Bummed 'cuz they are amazing - sic color and denim. Next I'm looking at super heavy weights - prolly Samurai 25 unsanforized… but a pair of 634-XHS are also on the list...
I have to say - I LOVE THIS WORLD OF JAPANESE DENIM!!! Even though I'm a desk jockey my style has always been industrial workwear. I'm so stoked to find that there are folks like Iron Heart who are making very fine clothes like this. This is my new/latest obsession, and my collection will grow slowly over time. It's hard to say if I have a favorite brand ATM, but IH is certainly up there. It's like saying what's your favorite ice cream - it's all good when your talking super premium!
I'm primarily an architect, but I love food and cooking and so some private chef work on the side. I'm really into Japanese knives, waterstones and sharpening. If anyone has a marginal interest in food, cooking, and knives, check out kicthenknifeforums-dot-com - Japanese knives are akin to Japanese denim.
Cheers fellas! mpp

You are kidding. We hope for two month winter time this year!
Stay tuned and have a great and warm wedding! -

Stay tuned and have a great and warm wedding!I'm sorry, but anything below 70 IS winter.
Guess you know the saying: "I love German summer… those are the best 3 days in the year."Anyway, thank you. I'm so excited for the wedding, moving out here... a whole new life is about to begin.

I'm really amazed by Indonesian iron heart fans. My uncle lives in Jakarta and god damn…. Not the coldest climate to say the least...

Hi all,
Been lurking on the forum for a while so I thought it was about time to pop my head in and say hello.
I've been into selvedge and workwear for a few years now when I first discovered it in Sydney.
I'm now back in the UK which means I've been able to indulge myself a bit more as there's a bit more variety and a lot less postage!I don't actually have any IH gear at the moment but I'm looking to remedy that very shortly. I'm currently rotating 2 pairs of Albam 13oz jeans along with a pair of N&F midnight blues as well as some badly in need of repair Crafteds.
I look forward to getting my first pair of heavy duty IH's very soon as the weather in London seems to be just about perfect for them at the moment.

Hello!
I live in Stockholm but am originally from London.
No IH jeans just yet…I'm trying hard to remedy this in my quest to find a pair of jeans that are comfortable and last a long while. I'm tired of Levis developing holes in the crotch after 3 or 4 months. The 501 cut is absolutely perfect for me, though, and finding something that is pretty much the same but made out of high quality denim is not an easy task.
My current denim stable includes: Levis 501 blue (USA made, still going strong, not worn all that often), Gap black jeans (rubbish), Naked & Famous black (worn every day, still in great condition after 6 months), Levis 501 black (USA, in good condition) and then about 10 pairs of ruined black 501s.
In what little spare time I have, I play bass and adore building instruments; I have put together all my instruments in some way or another. I work in international sales and my N&F jeans have been to Holland (twice), France (twice), Finland, the UK and Germany (twice) since I've had them. They should be coming to Holland again in the next couple of weeks.
I'm happy to be here. [Edit for a typo]

Happy to have you here. But be careful….over 20 major variants of the 501....

Our 634S is similar to the '66 501
Our 1955S is similar to the (wait for it....) '55 501

Thanks, Giles. I'm torn between those two. The 634S looks perfect but I'm concerned the flies are a bit short. There are three buttons on my N&F and they just don't go down enough; I end up having to undo the waist too to pee. The four buttons on the 1955S look more like what I'm after, but they might also be a bit high in the waist.
