SOCKS

Blue dockers socks…super comfy...inexpensive, and they match in color to blue denim
Fucking drives me nuts when peoples socks don't match with their pants
This is a sartorial rule that I've never heard. I don't like matching socks to pants, without that contrast it looks goofy to me. Socks should coordinate with pants, but IMO shouldn't match.
IMO, the sock should compliment your top/shirt. It allows the break up of the color palette, without looking like your trying too hard

Curently kickin it in some Cabots I picked up for $6 at TJ Maxx. You know what they have in common with those $25 Chup? I like them, period. I care less if it's a $400 pair of IH, or a $3 shirt from Goodwill, if I like it and think the money vs what I will get out of it are worth the investment, I'm picking it up.

I didn't invent this rule…

@4c:
Beautiful socks ArnoldLayne! Somehow I have this lurking suspicion that you actually took these socks from some poor girls washing ling though. It’s not that they don’t look manly enough, but the handle…
I've taken worse… ' Moonshine , washing line, they nearly always suit me fine' ...
Hey if I choose to spend my time as a sock lovin ho, then where better to post my bounty? But yeah 25 quid is mad for a pair of socks.
jdl1279 : I hear you, but if you can convince the missus to buy a pair of the navajo's , it'll make you happier than a few pints down the pub, and last a hell of a lot longer. And if one of you is earning, you know, a bit of a treat now and then if you can manage it, is nearly always a good thing.
As suggested above go for a navajo pair in black, grey, dark blue etc, the colour works best in person than the others imo, and there must be stockists in the US too. If not I know that there are many forum members willing to proxy at cost (me included of course).

Each to their own. Most people would think that spending >USD100 for a pair of jeans is mad. I would not spend threepence on a golf bat, but I'd happily spend USD1,000 on a fishing rod….

And I couldn't bring myself to part with that for a rod, but others might not wrap that kind of money up in a single guitar. I think this is a solid point, and even a bit funny that the comparisons need to be made here. We all are likely to have a expensive fetish outside of clothing, and despite having this one in common, many would look across the table scratching their heads at others.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect socks… Agree with seul, I think I mainly want something comfortable and durable now. Tfa is wack, wish I didn't have so many

Uniqlo ftw !! Best bang for buck ratio going imo.

"testing" these suckers today…first impression: really nice, holding up pretty well and feeling comfy from the start!
I got those in the opposite colourway - blue with orange stripes - and wish i had those ones too. They're standing up really well so far. On the £25 argument, I got a pair of Superior Labour socks for that much. Worn them a lot less than the Anonymous-Ism pair and they've developed holes already. I have no problem paying for quality goods, but I expect the quality to match the price.
