I try not to be jealous of all the boots in this thread (but I still am), and remember that it's not what you wear, but how you wear it.
"wear, don't compare"
This aren't Lofgrens or even Whites. They are my Frye Harness boots. I got them in August of 2012, the day after I got engaged. "you get a ring, so what do I get?" was my justification. This was my first pair of 'real boots,' having been stuck in sneaker-land for the better part of a decade.
After I bought them, I didn't really wear them much. They didn't really work in my wardrobe. So they sat, underneath the bed, for a year. When I was figuring out what I was gonna wear at the wedding, I wanted a pair of Wolverine 1ks, and my fiancee was not hesitant to point out that the last time I spent $200+ on a pair of boots, they never got worn. (I got the Wolverines anyway…)
Getting married is also what spurred me into getting my first pair of raw denim - N&F Dirty Fades (bought in September of 2013). I tried on the Frye's with my new jeans, and while they looked good together in terms of material, the WG leg opening was just a bit too small. These went back under the bed.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving of 2013. I ordered my Beatle Busters. When they showed up a few days later, I pulled out the Frye's from under the bed again. At this point, I had owned them for over a year, and had probably worn them less than 10 times. As soon as I tried them on with the IHxB01, it just fuckin' clicked. My legs had finally caught up to where my feet were 18 months prior.
Needless to say, I've been wearing these a lot over this winter. They truly are my shitkickers. I wear them hard, and they've held up really well so far. In fact, I wore them so much this winter that my wife got jealous, and decided she wanted a pair!
Sure, in a year or two, when I've settled down and bought a house, and I have a permanent job, I'll be on the hunt for some custom whites (RD Roughout Bounty Hunter) or some engineer boots, but for now, these Frye boots make me feel pretty fuckin cool.

Nothing wrong with Frye at all, my second engineers were Frye and I still have them. Still in good shape after a couple of decades.
