Sorry, I'm not quite sure I follow. I can understand perhaps it stretching out in the shoulders, but not in length? How would one achieve this? I'm also hesitant, as it will most likely shrink in the wash? My concern also with it stretching in the shoulders is that this will also have an effect of stretching out the neck.

Start with HPA and BR - they should know their stuff…I wear a size M, it fits tight and the neck has not stretched out yet.
If it doesn't work out you can always upgrade to a RMcC/JMcC/Ballpark:
- correct rib insert
- loopwheel knit option available(10oz)
- more knit options (10 and 12oz)
- modern fit
I believe they are a little more expensive than most BR's...

I purposely chose BR over McCoy - I'm based in NYC and McCoy is easily available from a number of retailers. I actually prefer the more 'mottled' appearance of the BR knit, that was my reason for choosing it. Also, having tried on some variations of the RMcC sweats, I didn't like the boxy fit - having read the description of the BR on HPA, I thought the revised fit would be more suitable.
Just for clarity, the BR arrived today. It looks fantastic with a tucked in shirt/shorter oxfords and trousers that are worn closer to the waste. It's slightly too short to wear with longer cut oxfords (e.g. Thom Browne) and trousers I tend to wear lower on the hips (e.g. short rise jeans).

I'm not sure if it stretching out in the shoulders would necessarily mean it would in the neck as well, but even if it does it would only have a more vintage appearance. The neck holes weren't really tight, but more oblong from the tension created my the tugging at the shoulders.
Also, I'm sure you could get some length if you wanted it by tugging down. It might shrink back after you wash it but it'll probably stretch again easily if you want it to.

I wanted a well made deck jacket, but I did not want the stenciling on the front or back. I went with a Buzz Rickson N-1 Deck Jacket. I recognize that the lack of stenciling renders the jacket less authenticate (as does the black color) – so be it. I am far from an expert, but the jungle cloth exterior and alpaca lining seem stellar. I am always nervous about Japanese sizing, but I tried on a similar jacket at Self Edge and confirmed that BR’s sizing is pretty accurate (meaning I did not have to upsize).
Now I need a twenty degree drop in the weather.

Ahhh the WG edition. I was really close to getting that instead of the one I got. Very nice score! My one and only criticism if my coat is the NOS zipper. It is already fraying a little bit.

Super impressed by these A-10s. Gorgeous construction, two tone stitching, super soft wool lining, beautiful woolen cuffs, and look at the grain developing in the goat skin.

Thanks and agreed, gentlemen. They're really terrific. Have replaced my cashmere lined deerskin gloves almost entirely. Such a classic look.
